To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until June 22, 2023.

India's sad story now we are trying to improve our higher education system. We were a race with intelligence. The mughals tried at most to convert us taking advantage of our greed, jealousy, simplicity. When they found difficulty in conversion because of strong philosophy, fundamentals, rituals. They gathered information on the rock strong universities which were the road blocks to their vision. They were Takshashila ,Nalanda they had no option but to burn the stored knowledge to disturb the framework. When this story was coming to an end the Portuguese & British entered again the same story of weakness of the rulers.By now our knowledge base was wiped out. The British education system was introduced with what they felt was right. After independence again another mix up.Nobody emphasized more on the original blood & brain of the land. All intruders were successful in understanding our mindset. Even today we don't know on what were the Blue prints of our education system to be -cont'd

Respected sir, In the medical sector, doctors are the main concern, for director /election purposes & doctors are selected from the national parties nowadays, what about the other nursing/paramedical degrees & master's degree /PhD candidates working in hospitals? We are working tirelessly in the hospital 24 *7 for the patients & people, why can't our higher degrees don't have value, we are considered in the hospital as a nurse/technicians whatever the education, and we don't have much role to play because of lack of upgradation! Why can't nurses/technicians holding higher degrees & phd can't become a director? Or else make us nursing directors we are holding universal acceptance for treating patients worldwide, Create promotions, upgrade designations like any other medical doctors degrees, We only know how difficult in completion of our nursing master's degrees/Phds, Please consider every degree has its value & do the needful.

The accreditation of higher educational institutions should consider the facility created by the institution for its students on practical application of their theoretical knowledge. For example it should give higher marks to those institutions who have made their laboratories as experimental hubs for private companies or Navaratna companies(public sector companies). How many new technologies are being successfully marketed and not only developed and not in use. How the institution has projected its new technology world wide and generated interest among world business community in respective sector. What is the rate of consistency in the research work taken up that means once any topic has been taken up for research by a group of scholars whether it is followed up by another group later on for any addition or deletion or it is left to its own fate . Collaboration with any advance country institution taking up similar topics.

It's not about higher education only..we need to work on secondary and higher secondary education level also. I am from gujarat..10th class results are out. My son got 94% ..but he was expecting more. He just wants to see his answer sheets. He wants to know where he did mistakes but there is no provision in gujarat board for this. CBSE provides photocopy of answer sheets but gujarat board doesn't. Now with this setback my son has to carry his 11th standard study. So many students are facing same problem. So eventually they will lose trust from system and hard work. They just want to see answer sheets. If they have done wrong then they are ready to accept their result. Right now they are feeling helpless.

PERIODIC ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION OF ALL HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION Recommendations of the govt panel on the subject matter need to be studied well and their pros and cons weighed. This exercise should be handled only by the experts in the field and persons of vision of experiencing high calibre. No doubt, a complete overhaul of the present scheme of accreditation and periodic assessment is needed. The ultimate aim of the entire process should focus on show casing the gateways to excellent educational avenues with a view to bring up all other institutions to a standard compatible to world classes.

Higher education in India is suffering from less competition, as a result quality researches are not done. Indian higher education has very rich history, but present does not seem to be effective. Quantitative growth is very good, but qualitative aspect seems to be missing.
