To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until June 22, 2023.

Honorable members, Due to a rapid advancement in science and technology globally it would perhaps be a great opportunity for us to have research hub centers in every district of the country. The cumulative effect of efforts from regions of the country will become visible at the national level over a period of time. As students progress in their research programs they should have the opportunity to take their research to the next level in their respective states itself. Having a wider spread and footprint of world class research centers will catapult the country to amongst the top 3 destinations for education and research. It may also be a good idea to look at various possibilities in paying higher salaries to the best research professors for better student outcomes. Ofcourse if we want to make our institutions multicultural and invite the brightest minds to study & work in the country we have to think about providing those amenities that the "world" thinks is basic creature comfort

A university refers to the universe. In this day and age when hyperspecializations are gaining traction and it is not uncommon to see multiple degree holders our efforts should be to foster higher education pursuits by all. Therefore certain things are important: 1. Accessibility to mega university campuses in every district 2. All lectures could be online as well as offline so that those who are not able to attend don't miss out. 3. Fostering multi disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research by having integrated campuses 4. Increasing GER by bringing adults into the education system. This will reduce generational gaps especially with technology being pervasive 5. Focusing on connecting villages to the campuses for encouraging more people to enroll. 6. Aiming for 100% literacy at school level is an ideal situation but having large base of university graduates and post graduates will create entrepreneurs and economic development in the region.
