The outbreak of the global pandemic COVID -19 presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. Not only is this pandemic a serious medical concern, but it also brings mixed emotions and psycho-social stressors for all. There are emerging mental health concerns with specific focus on Children, Adolescents and Youth as they more vulnerable to heightened level of stress, anxiety and fearfulness, along with a range of other emotional and behavioral issues. COVID-19 has also brought new stressors on Teachers and Parents hampering their capacity to provide positive support to their wards. While it is important to focus on continuing education on the academic front, we must give equal importance to the mental health and well-being of the students.

Manodarpan, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aims at mobilizing psycho-social support to help Children, Youth, Teachers and Parents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner during conditions like COVID-19 and after. For more information, please visit www.mhrd.gov.in/covid-19/

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, hereby invites citizens to share ideas and inputs to combat the psycho-social stress on School & College Students, Teachers and Parents, caused due to COVID-19 pandemic. Selected comments may be featured on social media.

we should revise the vacation scheme of teachers. they are not getting proper leaves from past few years.to meet the never ending expectation of parents, schools are using teachers as mahine.dairy entry, register entry, paper making, paper checking many more. handling kids are not easy aur vo bhi ek class mein 50. hum ghar mein do bache nai sambhal sakte, teachers 50 sambhalti hai.its duty of school to check mental health of teachers as well. proper summer n winter break and no extra exam duties

stress, can only be reduce when we start living life. we should make meditation and sprituality complusory in every school in india- govt and private.we have to work on the mental health of our teachers. they should given proper counselling and motivations.make them realize they are not doing just a job but they are teachers.we should low down the stress of work on them, because maximum teachers are housewife.

I think that college should be allowed to open either in shifts or phase. And coaching institute should be allowed for reopening so that people can get back to their studies but with time shifts and it should be all planned. 10+2 classes should open and remaining classes should be closed as of now till situation get better. But I completely agree that college should be allowed to open but with proper preactuion and all things should be considered as per covid protocol.

School is the first place where children are introduced to society as young adults. Children like school and enjoy the atmosphere even after becoming adults. School teaches them integrity , honesty, sports etc., besides education. Now online classes deprive them of all this activity and may affect their psychology if we experiment with this technology based education. We have to consider these aspects and make decisions which are covid free and useful to all

To avoid mental stress in youths due to on-line studies for so long, government may think of opening schools for 10+2 sections for limited number of days and for limited number of hours but there shall not be any classes. Classes shall continue on-line as now. This shall be done to give students an opportunity to meet their friends, exchange their experiences to vent out stress. They can discuss their concern wit teachers in small groups. For smaller classes, home studies shall continue.
