The outbreak of the global pandemic COVID -19 presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. Not only is this pandemic a serious medical concern, but it also brings mixed emotions and psycho-social stressors for all. There are emerging mental health concerns with specific focus on Children, Adolescents and Youth as they more vulnerable to heightened level of stress, anxiety and fearfulness, along with a range of other emotional and behavioral issues. COVID-19 has also brought new stressors on Teachers and Parents hampering their capacity to provide positive support to their wards. While it is important to focus on continuing education on the academic front, we must give equal importance to the mental health and well-being of the students.

Manodarpan, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aims at mobilizing psycho-social support to help Children, Youth, Teachers and Parents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner during conditions like COVID-19 and after. For more information, please visit www.mhrd.gov.in/covid-19/

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, hereby invites citizens to share ideas and inputs to combat the psycho-social stress on School & College Students, Teachers and Parents, caused due to COVID-19 pandemic. Selected comments may be featured on social media.

Last date of sending us your inputs is 21st August 2020

Children are being given online education under Covid- 19. This is very good for children. But in online education, children face a lot of problems due to net and their eyes are very affected. The fees of private schools are very high and there is a big problem in giving to parents. Due to which education is being disrupted for children and teachers are giving salary.

India need to encourage everyone talent as we can see the workers in the villages who are on the different fields like wood works and who make different art on the pots need more demand as the paints like a single blue color painted on a white sheet of paper and Worth's in lakhs and an art on a delicate pot with a number of designs will not even Worth's in thousands.

Sir, lot of children are involving in the MyGov activities/tasks. For appreciating & for increasing their involvement, I sincerely request you to make developments (increase) in giving number of prizes and certificates. And plz select State wise and National wise. Bcz, if number of prizes are less, many of the children from all the states can not be identified. And many tasks are for General public, in which also children participate, in those tasks identify children separately & apprrciate.

Smart e-learning device to govt. school children:- Sir, we need to think a lot about govt. school children (many villages children & poor children are studying in govt. schools). Many are backlog in learning due to this pandemic. Govt to provide e-facilities for them to provide e-education. For every govt. school children, govt need to issue a free smart e-learning device to improve education facilities for such children, so further/future any situations can be handled.

The best way to promote mental health wellness is to introduce a counseling session in the online teaching timetable. At least once a week tips to be given to the students to cope up with anxiety, fears, depressions, etc. Students can be given one to one sessions with a counselor so that they can open up and express their concerns. Parents also need to spend quality time with their children. , motivate them, inform them the latest about the crisis also as it is very important.

We feel stress and anxiety when we have nothing to do but only think and think. That's where, we have to improve our habits. Indulge yourself in the activities, try to analyze, who you are and what your skills are. If you want to start writing , make a 30-day challenge by yourself and take. Do this same with anything you want to do like painting, dancing singing, even cooking. Start talking with your parents, siblings and grandparents more. This will help you to feel happy not stressed.

Best way to overcome to this situation is engaging overselves in any of the activities that are of our Interest. Like childeren can do dance, singing and learning through Online medium. Teachers can do different quizzes and fun learning activities in online mode to make studies more fun loving and interacting. Youth can indulge in innovating new ideas like making online platforms so that people have to less interact with each other and spread the message of social distancing through social media
