The outbreak of the global pandemic COVID -19 presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. Not only is this pandemic a serious medical concern, but it also brings mixed emotions and psycho-social stressors for all. There are emerging mental health concerns with specific focus on Children, Adolescents and Youth as they more vulnerable to heightened level of stress, anxiety and fearfulness, along with a range of other emotional and behavioral issues. COVID-19 has also brought new stressors on Teachers and Parents hampering their capacity to provide positive support to their wards. While it is important to focus on continuing education on the academic front, we must give equal importance to the mental health and well-being of the students.

Manodarpan, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aims at mobilizing psycho-social support to help Children, Youth, Teachers and Parents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner during conditions like COVID-19 and after. For more information, please visit www.mhrd.gov.in/covid-19/

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, hereby invites citizens to share ideas and inputs to combat the psycho-social stress on School & College Students, Teachers and Parents, caused due to COVID-19 pandemic. Selected comments may be featured on social media.

Last date of sending us your inputs is 21st August 2020

5. Recognition and grading of schools on the ratio of interactive, playground and collaboration places rather number of classrooms, benches and big showoff of bricks and mortars. Open sitting under tree is much better than sadisting setting of monotonous classrooms.

To increase mental health wellness I have some ideas.I myself being a student has suffered from this situation. Not me but my both parents were covid positive and they recovered but at that time when I saw news, negativity always knocked the door of my mind/mental health. So in this period of such a pandemic the parents should be told to keep their children all away from this and try to increase confidence in them, make them courageous. They should try to increase their child's concentration onstudy

4. More of geography, history and science education either in school labs or nature labs where students can see, feel and touch what they are taught wherever possible. Rather I would suggest school should be place of interactive, play, tinkering center rather rote learning center. No industrial style bench seating at all.

हमें अपने बच्चों को बाहर की दुनिया में क्या उथल पुथल मच रही है।यह बताना उतना आवश्यक नही जितना कि यह बताना कि उनके असली हीरो उनके माता पिता और गुरु है।

2. Training of teachers to change mindset where students are in center of learning in schools and teachers roles are more of facilitator and mentor than broadcaster. Through School/class analytics measure mentoring quotient of teacher before giving respinsiblity, promotion and transfer.

Studies are an integral part of life for a student. But, the period of Corona is making it difficult for students to earn studies. They are staying for at least 4 months at their homes and are worrying about their studies. Their minds are not well developed too to face such an unseen condition. Hence, it has become necessary to take useful steps. These can be: 1. Distribution of books among students by school authorities. 2. Studies through online classes, run by schools. 3. Organization of quiz

Students , boys & girls above a certain age , say 14 years + can use the time to learn household work & help parents . This way they will learn some work, & also will spend time in a productive way. Also This certainly helps as a stress reliever .
