With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

I am a manufacturer of Gloves and GST on my raw material is 18% whereas GST on my end product is 5%. GST paid by me to my suppliers is more than what I will get upon selling my product to end customer. Will I get refund of excess GST paid?

hi sir, as a citizen and regular sports enthusiast I am unable to understand why are the general exercise and fitness products being treated as luxury products and charged a GST of 28%?? I understand if machines and heavy gym equipment are charged at that value....but charging a 28% GST on regular everyday products like Gym Ball, Yoga Mats, Weights etc is going to discourage people to take up different forms of health and fitness related activities. Kindly try and look into this please.

Mr. Narendra Modi if you had the courage to do demonetisation without informing anyone, then why don't you have the courage to bring petroleum products under GST Regime ? Kya hua ab seena 56 inch ka nahi hai ? I think You do the politics of your convenience.Tumhara hashar bhi Congress jaisa hi hoga.

Thanks for GST as multi tax system is abolished any way. Check posts on borders of states are demolished ushering a new era of reforms. India is a big and diverse country because of which single slab GST cannot be formed, that I understand carefully. But in future try to converge it in two slabs.
