sir,
i think the subjects that are taught in the schools are not sufficient enough to compete with the fast developing world. subjects that improve the problem solving ability should be added in curriculum. i.e. when a student is given a real life problem he/she should be able to break that problem into steps that could lead to final solution. many developed countries have this kind of subjects introduced in their curriculum since the junior classes.

Due to "faulty system" many knowledgeable/learned persons are out of the system [literally on road]. These persons can be utilized for writing books for science students. these persons are self employed in teaching profession. Not difficult to find, they have good knowledge and experience.

Now a days books for IX to XII science are written by B.Tech./M.Tech.students, who are running coaching. Are they qualified to write Physics/Chemistry/Maths books for Science? Please remove these books from the market and make some rules so that only M.Sc./PhD degree holders/teachers can write books. these books are "tricks"by IIT-ians not sc. knowledge. Better make a pool of qualified persons, at national and state level, for science book writing. Please clean the book market from this garbage.

To train students, we will have to train teachers. We should incorporate technology into our education system. And regular audits must be done to ensure that teachers and students use the learnings from technology.

Best motivation to learning is sensing directly how things happen in a constrained environment, education should combine community involvement in solving problems like sanitation, clean green environment. student should learn to make things happen by science.

the teaching pedagogy must certainly change. We should make use of IT like videos and animation to explain certain principles. Presentations should be given by students and projects based on actual physical activities and not rot memorizing, should be emphasized. The curiosity is the key and the reason why should students should study these subjects should be clarified. homework should be removed and monthly tests should be taken. CLassroom sessions should be interactive and not one way.

foundation of active learning starts with locality.(Learn-see-develop-apply) model for Maths and science, which has local context is necessary. content should be chosen accordingly.

The student should be given elucidation in classes and then by community involvement, they should understand things and problems around and let them develop solution using science and maths. teachers should frame problems that impart necessary life skills and knowledge and set up of community they live in, then all will become smart.
