sir i think the tradition of providing notes to the students must be abolished. Rather students must themselves read the chapters and prepare the notes and teachers must carefully read the notes and judge according to the quality of notes, TEACHERS MUST NOT PROVIDE THE NOTES> THIS WILL HELP IN DEVELOPING THE READING SKILLS AND STUDENTS WILL GRASP THE TEXT EASILY.

No amount of tech upgrade & WiFi can stimulate a disinterested mind. We had Sir Raman, S Chandrasekar & ramanujam who made do with minimal infrastructure but had a burning desire to excel. At present technology can help in reaching out to far flung areas, in the long run it should drive scientific temper.

The first step here should be online instructor education, in the pedagogical areas. If the instructor is given hand holding to use technology for class room teaching and distance education 50% of the work is done. Second should be lecture capture solutions to be enables with saas. Smart class rooms enablement will take care if the infra part. Elearning, device based learning ( also available in offline mode ) should be implemented to make sure internet issues arbtaken care.

Introduction of e-learning in higher education is must.
