After independence, due to various factors like good education, job hunting, family planning adoption, vagaries of monsoon, lack of timely water supply from irrigation canals, unstable pricing policy, black marketing of fertilisers and pesticides, high labour cost etc. farmers dependant on cultivation are coming down and the existing land holders are also leasing out and staying in urban areas. Professionalism and dedication to mother earth are coming down.
We have to rebuild the confidence.

Farmers cannot decide the rate at which their own product can be sold in market. All this is done by the middlemen who take away the cream. Therefore remove all these middlemen.Encourage the farmers to sell their produce directly to the market either individually or on co-operative basis. This will benefit them as well as the end customers. This will also help in reducing soaring prices of aggro products.

Dear PM, say what you want to say. But do what you say.
Even the farmer today is literate, educated and knows the truth.
No one can fool the farmers now.
They have as much right over the business they chose to be in as anyone.
No one should dictate their modern economic model and force it on them.
Heard some Lord XYZ economics advising India on economics model is bad.
The only sustainable business for centuries will be related to Roti, Kapada, Makaan. Don't kill those professions.
