Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will share his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ with the farmers of India on 22nd March 2015.

The Prime Minister is very keen to interact with his farmer sisters and brothers across India and would also like to hear their thoughts, ideas and insights on a wide range of issues relating to agriculture. He has requested farmers across India to write to him and send letters to ‘Mann Ki Baat, Akashvani, Sansad Marg, Delhi – 110001’. Some farmers can ask the Prime Minister their question directly during the episode.

MyGov also gives you all this wonderful opportunity to contribute through ideas and inputs for the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode with India’s hardworking farmers.

The PM has repeatedly said that India cannot progress until the farmers of the Nation progress and has assured that the Centre will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the agricultural progress of India.

Having said that, I would like to suggest that first and foremost, the farmers of our nation have to be made literate and aware of the facilities that have been provided to them. Also, the transport and distribution of the supplies should be made easier for the farmers as well as the consumers. Make sure that the perks and subsidies for the farmers are made available to them. Educating the farmers in the techniques of production and also of the ways they can produce more would be beneficial.

Couple of topics, I would like to my PM highlight for his intention 1. This government is selling Coal mines in transparent ways and generated ~2.03LCr till date 2. Auctioning Telecom spectrum and generating bids of ~1.04LCr till date "We are honest with national resources and land is one. We want farmers are paid legitimate amount of their resources if they want to sell." #MannKiBaat, #PMRadioAddress, #Farmers, #AIR, #MyGov

One more suggestion: What we can do is we will provide feedback to our farmers for newer crops or other products which have demand in market rather than the traditional crops. there should be district wise platform of agriculture scientist who give their expert advise on such demanding crops/ products.

I believe that use of drone technology for precision agriculture and mapping will benefit the Nation in many ways : 1) Increase agricultural yield per hectare which is below global average currently . The small farm holding per farmer multiplied by the huge number of farmers means even a 5% loss per farm adds up to a big loss when multiplied by the huge number of farmers 2) Can create rural entrepreneurial opportunities when rolled out as a service model. Case study enclosed. Venkatesh

Sir, you are aware of the facts and the statistics regarding the percentage of population involved in agricultural, i.e. approximately 70%, a clear majority, practices farming to earn its living. But the state of agriculture in our nation is preposterous. Its is one thing to practice and prosper with agriculture being the major occupation but, it is an entirely different matter to be practicing an occupation that does not even yield appropriate and required output with 70% creating just 30%.

7. Expensive private education 8. Poor government health system and very expensive private healthcare system 9. Dependency on others for value of own product (waiting for your commitment of one and half in multiplication of cost) 10. Poor connectivity of villages to cities (lack of public transport system) 11. There should be different insurances to farmer. 12. Bitter truth is that nobody is ready to work as a farmer even labourer are not ready to work in fields. Pls help gram devta
