there are large govt colonied of various departments, army cantonments, police lines, govt hospitals. they should take a lead. segregate waste, recycle water, compost solid waste. till govt itself starts doing what it preaches it all will sound very hollow

govt websites are not updated. No protocol is there for this. everyone remembers how fax relating to tsunami info was sent to old number. govt officers never check their email or reply on them. but if one sends a registered letter it is responded to. people in govt offices dont pick phone and there is no way to call back people whose calls were missed. Precise Status update from Ministries should be available to public periodically on a timely basis . If the ministries give a quarterly update on what they did for the last 3 months or so then public has a chance to know whether our governing body is doing any real work or making any progress and also helps us participate .
