About Gem.gov.in

Directorate General Supplies and Disposal (DGS&D) under the directions of the Central Government has developed an online platform Government e-Market place (GeM), to facilitate online procurement of common use Goods & Services required by various Government Departments / Organizations / PSUs. GeM would thus provide a common platform to buyers and sellers/service providers for Direct Selling and e-auctions.

While procurement of goods is very common, the Government wants to take steps for the provisioning of services (just like products) through GeM platform for the ease of government buyers.

An example of service that has already been provisioned on GeM is Taxi Service. Government Buyers can select from a list of attributes (referred to as Biddable Parameters) example: Hiring type (spot hiring, regular hiring, leasing) , Duration of hiring (Half day, full day, Monthly Yearly etc), Body Type( Sedan, Hatchback), Engine Capacity (800CC to 2500CC) etc. The service provider would provide rates for all these combinations and the buyer can compare the rates for different service providers before placing the final order. The same can be visited on gem.gov.in

On the same lines, DGS&D is trying to draft some IT services:
1. Data Center Service
2. Cyber Security Service
3. Cloud Service

The draft SLA and Biddable parameters of which are now put up for public consultation. We would like to have inputs on the specific Terms and Conditions drafted for each service as well as Financial/Technical Biddable Parameters standardized for offering various Services on GeM.

Citizens can give suggestions for specific services by using the Hashtags given below:
#GeMDataCenterService
#GeMCyberSecurityService
#GeMCloudService

Last date of submission is 6th May, 2017

Sir, Our government is encouraging for paperless transactions. It is being noticed that on making payment through internet banking some amount is being charged from our account. More over, in case we have to make payment through e-mode, even in the account of government, we are being compelled to pay 2% in excess as service charges. Even full LPG subsidy amount is not being credited in our accounts. How a common man will support for payment through digital mode? Kindly do somethig.

Sir,The Kashmir unrest agitates me a lot.The potential solution of this situation could be mainstreaming these youths by providing them gainful employment. A civic police squad namely “Anti Stone Pelting Squad” can be created and mass casual employment could be given to local Kashmiri Youths to check stone pelting. Providing an uniform to wear and a fixed source of monthly income(say only Rs 5000 per month) will indulge these youths to abstain from any anti-social activities.

The organisation is not serious in implementing in it. Due to which lot employees are not coming to duty regularly and come to duty once in 15 days and sign manually in attendance register. There is no punctuality in employees and they come to duty as their wish.

India is importing huge qty of LEDs which is being used in LED bulbs, tubes etc. Why govt. of India is not setting-up a unit in India which will give the LEDs cheaper than importing. This is a opportunity which will lead to major industrialization.

Namaskar Sir,I suggest that every hospital must accept payment in digital mode, i.e., by credit card, debit card, by cheque or any other digital mode. so that no income can be hide by hospitals, the law should be passed that no cash should be accepted by hospitals except nominal charges like consultation, because generally hospitals don't give bill to the patient and they just take cash without giving any bill or receipt and that will be black income and they will not pay the tax on that income.
