In the past three years, the Government has endeavoured to remove corruption in every form and technology presents itself as one of the most potent tools. But, technological interventions work when the interventions are simple, transparent and include a public feedback mechanism. Utilising advancements in technology, the Government is following a multi-pronged strategy to tackle the problem in an effective manner

1. Transferring benefits directly to beneficiaries
2. Making government procurements transparent
3. Digitization of service deliveries
4. Promoting Cashless Transactions
5. Jan Bhagidari
6. Open Government Data

Direct Benefit Transfer was a significant step towards plugging leakages. Amount transferred via DBT is increasing and leakages are reducing. The government has laid equal emphasis on citizens getting Aadhaar. The Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile (JAM) trinity will bring complete accountability in monetary transactions and eliminate ghost beneficiaries.

Additionally, Government e-Marketplace (GeM) was launched to make government procurements simple and transparent, eliminating any scope of corruption. Faceless e-assessment for income tax payers introduced from 2018 was another important step. Tax officers now communicate with the taxpayers through the ‘E-Proceeding' facility which reduces human interface.

The fight against corruption is a long and arduous one. Various online platforms have been introduced by the government, wherein the citizens can join forces with them by sharing their feedback and views. The decision to involve the honest citizens of our country in the fight increases the strength of the force against corruption to a great extent.

In the same vein, MyGov invites citizens to share their ideas on how technology can be used to uproot corruption and suggest innovations to fight the malice in an effective manner. Ideas and suggestions can be provided in the form of a comment below or by attaching a PDF document.

I strongly believe corruption can only be eradicated by non-corrupt government servants (including professors, teachers, officials, clerks). Corruption happens at all levels since every one has landed their jobs/tender through bribes/corrupt practices and all that they are bothered about is getting a return on their investment(bribe). I think fair and transparent on-line recruitment / tender process will help in reducing corruption in a long run if not immediately. #Corruption

most of the sites built by govt to reduce bribe are not working. u can take example of e- aadhar site. i any working partially. only half or work can be done through site for rest of half work again we need to face govt official ...and same old system goes on. no benifits of site for corruption prevention.

The Central Government has provided for online RTI but no such service is available for getting information from state government and Panchayats. instant arrangement should be made to create portals for each state for online RTI filling and disposal system and and documents should be provided scanned. this will ensure in reduced level of harassment by PIO and trail of all records of submission.

Scenario: Citizen is unable to conveniently submit service request or get access to information. Process owners and administrators have the control to make it accessible. The citizen is willing to "pay any charges" to get his work done. Result: Corruption is manifested. We need to use technology to simplify government processes for citizens. Census, National Population register, skill register, there are so many databases with duplicate records. Create a single database of records.

Hi Sir, regarding corruption and other malpractice at Panchayat Raj Insti. especially concerning huge monies that are devolved under the 14th FC, government has made provisions of plan plus and action plus, yet we need to do more to create awareness and find malpractice/misappropriation by panchayat. I have highlighted measures in the attached pdf report; which is the result of my 3 months of work at Panchayat level.

#Corruption The 6 multi-pronged strategies to tackle corruption that is mentioned in the discussion are very crucial and effective. e-licensing should be introduced wherever possible to avoid granting of license to undeserving, unqualified persons/companies or agencies who do not meet criteria required to be eligible for license. Unauthorized granting of license by receiving bribe or by pressure due to any influences can be thwarted. e-licensing can also help prevent harassment of innocents.
