Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

Cont...to pick best for professionals in gov agency 10.all states to have same boards and make admissions availability online. 11. Discourage private tutor classes. 12. Nationalism be thght frm grade one.

The teacher training wing should be monitored and regulated by the School Board (CBSE, ICSE etc.). This wing would act as the Quality Faculty development process and would help in teacher development.

Professional degree holders to give yearly exams to continue their exams sp the doctors. 7.teachers be encouraged to have a pro student behaviour, lot to learn frm developed countries. 8. Rattabaji which most kids do must be discontinued and logical thinking be accepted as grading sysytem. 9.implement basic skills like life saving,policing,social services,waste n disaster management compulsory in higher grades to help pick best by gov in these fields frm

Teacher Training in India takes a toll as all the various courses for these are through different regulatory bodies. For instance; A school is the best judge of what qualities are required in a School Teacher and a College is the best judge of what is required for a College Professor, but our Teacher training institutes are aloof of these facts and a B.Ed council is regulating them independently. On the contrary every school in India should have a small Teacher Training Wing.

1. Make gov school education better than private schools, leave private schools only for the elite who can spend fortunes 2.take away reservation system 3.till 5th grades kids shud be set free to do their own things, small things like sanskrit shrolks, yog, gardening, paper crafts, engineering, science expriments and many more skillful activities along with some language n math knowledge. 5.kids must be thght kn open to sky, under trees, bringing them closer to nature, make them sensitive to

Sir, teacher training leaves a lot to be desired. We have fly by night operators who offer diplomas & degrees of varying course duration - 6mths to 2yrs. Teacher appointment is more about "connections", "pressure" than a desire to teach. Most teachers in their student days, go through an educational system that appeals to the lowest common denominator, with no need to really strive hard. Teaching it appears, is an easy means of livelihood. The really good ones run tuition centres.

Use Finland's model of teacher training. Compulsory masters degree, low teaching hours, focus on lesson planning, feedback and self-improvement of teachers, teaching seen as a highly competitive and sought-after career.
