In the past few months we all have worked in conjunction towards making Tumakuru a Smart City. The citizen feedback received in Stage 1 and 2 of this Challenge have been carefully analyzed to articulate the vision, goals and prioritized Area Based Development & PAN City projects proposed in the Smart City Proposal.

As part of the process for Round 3 Citizen Engagement, Tumakuru City Corporation is inviting everyone related to Tumakuru for your feedback as well as valuable suggestions on the proposal.

A smart city has sufficient and usable public open spaces, many of which are green, that promote exercise and outdoor recreation for all age groups.

For being a smart city,it should use digital technologies,information technologies and communication technologies to enhance quality and performance of urban services to reduce costs and resource consumption.

It taken up for retrofitting, the city will have a very good case in point for compact mixed use and transit oriented development.

There is scope for compactness in central areas such the bus station and railway station areas which are themselves far spaced with town hall and the corporation in between
