In the past few months we all have worked in conjunction towards making Tumakuru a Smart City. The citizen feedback received in Stage 1 and 2 of this Challenge have been carefully analyzed to articulate the vision, goals and prioritized Area Based Development & PAN City projects proposed in the Smart City Proposal.

As part of the process for Round 3 Citizen Engagement, Tumakuru City Corporation is inviting everyone related to Tumakuru for your feedback as well as valuable suggestions on the proposal.

For the further selection of a feasible sample two main arguments were considered according to the project’s aim and its time frame: Cities should be of medium size and they should be covered by accessible and relevant databases.

However, there is no common definition of a medium-sized city. For this study we chose to understand medium-sized cities as cities often also understood as “second cities” on a European scale, cities which are mainly not recognised very well on a European scale but often of crucial importance on a national and regional scale.
