For the realization of the Hon PM Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, we need to develop Science & Technology (S&T) interventions that identify the problems that lack resolution and provide suitable solutions. We need to develop & promote locally-driven enterprises & services that resolve to work for a better quality of life.

For the same, the Science for Equity Empowerment and Development (SEED), Division of Department of Science & Technology (DST) are working towards bridging the above gap by creating a virtual platform Science-Society-Setu for Aatmanirbhar Bharat (S34ANB).

This initiative intends to align Technology, Knowledge, Skills and Resources at local levels to strengthen the pillars of ‘Social Infrastructure’ and ‘Technology Driven System’. It aims to reform a systemic, planned, integrated, inter-connected & futuristic process through technological interference and ease of doing business at a local level to achieve self-reliance.

The initiative is an online platform for collaborations between the solution seekers and solution providers. The web clinics will highlight emerging technologies and their utilities to augment the technological self-sufficiency for grass-root requirements. The Web Clinic is inclined towards identifying new ideas and partners for evolving SEED schemes directed towards indigenous technologies and effective delivery mechanism.

During each session, the panel of experts would provide a feasibility report on (i) possible forward linkages between NGOs/CBOs & knowledge institutions and (ii) guidelines to way-forward. The resulting ideas and recommendations will be supported through SEED Division of DST for participatory action research projects through its ongoing schemes/programs or in collaboration with other relevant divisions and funding agencies.

The virtual interaction series Science-Society-Setu for Aatmanirbhar Bharat is being launched, implemented and managed using India Science, Technology and Innovation (ISTI) Web Portal of Vigyan Prasar.

The initiative is being jointly organized by DST, in collaboration with the office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA), Vigyan Prasar, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Accelerating Growth of New India’s Innovations (AGNIi), World Wide Fund for Nature India (WWF-India), and Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO).

The Web Clinic will primarily focus on five sectors of Aatmanirbhar Bharat namely:

● Agriculture and allied sector
● MSME
● Economic Sector
● Social Infrastructure
● Cross-sectoral Areas

To contribute to the discussion and participate in the Web Clinic, get registered http://indiascienceandtechnology.gov.in/registration

Science-Society-Setu Q1. How the indigenous/existing agricultural technologies are viable or can be made viable by harnessing Science, Technology, and Innovation for responsible and consumable agriculture production? Discussion: • Technology adoption is core of agricultural development. • Despite visible benefits many technologies are not adopted by farmers. • Technology must be compatible to local environment. • Price of new technology must be competitive to the alternate

many ways are possible to make S34ANB possible. universities can play a vital role in this. already GGSIPU New Delhi has initiated plans to adopt atma nirbhar bharat into its start up policy and willing to help small and marginalized society who have been the most affected people due to COVID 19. GGSIPUNew Delhi is taking lead in this matter. our pilot project can be a model that can be emulated and implemented in other universities of the country . this movement shall achieve the objectives.

10.At the last I would like to say government must market and educate all current government policy for poor, farmer, women, child and any level of men for whom the scheme is made then only our economy will grow and cycle will complete ,cash flow will be there in market, Currently the Opposition parties are making reverse marketing of government's policies and misleading people's. Pace or effectiveness of good promotion through MP"s or TV Channels and social media is less than bad promotion.

9. I would like to suggest also for self dependent India , Government to promote , establish and run the Business of Products for which India is importing. We should minimize the Import and Government must run campaign continuously until our import is at minimum of GDP to throw market of overseas Products like toys, electronics, healthy food items, medicines, hospital equipment's, safety equipment's and of course defense equipment's

7. It is very important after COVID19 , to uplift the moral of people specially of Small business who does business for daily income to run their lives and family needs. I would like to suggest to make it compulsory for government employee, semi government employee, large private firm employee, MP's, to purchase minimum of his one or two salary , local product throughout one year to promote local products. If they purchase ultimately it will be marketed.

6. In continuation of point 5, i would like to say instead of making small small or medium size Tenders for this Jobs, government can give through daily or monthly rotation man-power , pay them wages and supervise through same team who is suppose to supervise tendered contractor. This will stop corrupted contractor or middle men and ultimately save money to government and cost to complete the Works.

5. I would also like to suggest to increase daily wages people and give them work in villages, cities , districts through direct online calls and pay them direct with Aadhar card or any other valid bank details. This work can be given in rotation if there is many un-employed people so that every one can run their lives and family. There is lot of works requires to be done like local wells, canals, drainage facilities, electric facilities, telephone & net services temporary or permanent roads.

4.For Self dependent India, it is merely needed to uplift moral of small business who does through small shops, thela, on road with cycle or hand cart . If we are success in lifting their moral the Value of India will automatically increase. We should promote so much of local product so that the full village will depend on self made product and no one goes to other village to buy and like this way each village or city will be self dependent. This will create competition for more better-quality.
