India has a rich legacy of practices and knowledge touching different spheres of life and a scientific heritage traversing various Science & Technology (S&T) domains. The traditional knowledge of India is available in various forms such as classical texts, manuscripts and/or as oral communication that has been passed on over thousands of years. This valuable knowledge is often part of our daily practices as well. Some of the traditional practices are livelihood means of the concerned knowledge holders. Our traditional practices exist in synergy between human needs and nature, often balancing resources and requirements in a local context. However, with time, India’s Traditional Knowledge Systems are eroding rapidly, and the nation has also been witnessing erosion in people’s faith towards our traditional knowledge. A grave concern is the mindless attitude of some to mimic non-Indian cultures and disdain for our traditions. It’s important to recognize that traditional heritage is an integral part of any country’s development and progression. This calls for necessary attention and action from the concerned stakeholders in the country to build further on our scientific inheritance. Only a well-informed and balanced society can drive the advancement of the country.

Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister and President, CSIR Society, Shri Narendra Modi, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is spearheading the efforts to collaborate with the relevant partners from across the country and implement the national initiative SVASTIK (Scientifically Validated Societal Traditional Knowledge) for communicating India’s traditional knowledge to the society. CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) is the nodal organization to implement this national initiative.

The prime mission of the initiative is to conserve scientifically validated traditional practices, and instil confidence in citizens regarding the scientific values of our traditional knowledge/practices.

We invite the suggestions of academicians, researchers, subject-matter experts, students, NGOs, and the public on how to instil confidence in society about our traditional knowledge and practices. This will help us in our mission to inculcate a scientific temper and instil confidence in citizens by stimulating the Science-Scientist-Society connect towards our traditional knowledge and practices.

I think everyone should participate in the competition that is going on in MyGov right now because these apps have the honor of our country's honorable Prime Minister so everyone can actually participate in any event or competition in these apps.

Very simply obey or impliment Niyam according to Sastra by giving class or coaching without Campaign. Simple Ways are.... 1. Ban Flesh , Drugs , Alcohol for permanent. 2. Implement "0 Diat " & " Veg Diat" & creat Confidant thoughts.

हमारे यहां एक बहुत ही प्रचलित कहावत है कि old is gold अर्थात जो पुराना है उसका भी अपना अलग ही महत्व है। हमें अपने गौरवपूर्ण एवम् समृद्ध पारंपरिक ज्ञान , विज्ञान व प्रचलित विधाओं को समझना होगा , इसके पीछे के विज्ञान को समझना होगा ,इसके लिए व्यापक स्तर पर सामाजिक जागरूकता की अहम आवश्यकता है। आज के इस मशीनी युग में हमें अपने पुरानी विधाओं को आज के तकनीक के साथ समावेश करते हुए एक उन्नत ज्ञान को विकसित करना होगा जिसमें पुरानी परंपराओं के साथ साथ आधुनिक ज्ञान का एक बेहतर और घनिष्ठ संबंध हो। आखिर कोई भी पुरानी विधा या ज्ञान जिसे आज हम जिसे पारंपरिक ज्ञान कहके है, हमारे पूर्वजों के द्वारा अथक मेहनत ,शोध व अनुसंधान का निष्कर्ष हो सकता है।अतः आवश्कता है कि उस पुराने ज्ञान कि सही वाख्या की जाय, उन रहस्यों को खोजा जाय जिसके बारे में हमें अभी तक पता नहीं है। साथ ही साथ हमारे नीति निर्माताओं को भी इसके लिए पाठ्यक्रम में इसे पर्याप्त स्थान देना होगा जिससे कि युवाओं में एक नई चेतना का संचार होगा और हमारी पारंपरिक ज्ञान व विज्ञान का प्रचार प्रसार समाज के हर व्यक्ति व परिवार तक संभव हो पायेगा ।

as i searched a lot in this application i didn't found anything related to "save water" in which our honourable prime minister "SHRI NARENDRA MODI" involves or is been presented any task related to "SAVE WATER" It's a request make any contest in which people participate and get certificate as already getting in other contest as i think it's a very big concern and we aren't doing anything to save water on large scale contact me for further details:-9837667485

Traditional knowledge is at the core of indigenous identity, culture, languages, heritage and livelihoods, and its transmission from one generation to the next must be protected, preserved and encouraged, speakers in the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues stressed today, as they opened its eighteenth session. The special theme of this year’s forum “Indigenous Peoples’ Traditional Knowledge:  Generation, transmission and protection” is an opportunity to share innovations and practices developed in indigenous communities over centuries and millennia, Permanent Forum Chair Anne Nuorgam said. “We need to ensure that our educational practices, languages, environmental conservation and management is acknowledged and respected globally, not only by Governments, but by all peoples,” she emphasized.

India needs to rediscover it's Naatya Shaastra (street theatre). I believe some still exists: Jana Natya Manch, Pravah, Alarippu, Swatantra Theater, Bihar Art Theater etc. These theatres represent by the people and for the people. There is active cooperation from the community and they help expose important aspects of the society and spread indigenous values and ideas. They can even help empower women and give them a voice in society and also forms a major source of entertainment that would not be limited to just rural communities. The government of can later organize exchange of performance in different areas and even host annual competitions to promote this. This could easily upskill people or even provide employment to atleast 20-30 million people across India.

India produced world renowned magicians such as Protul Chandra Sorcar but there are a handful that have carried on his legacy. Talented magicians should be identified and their tricks promoted and this is vital for kids to grow up with something fascinating and something that leaves them in awe.

India (and Iran and the subcontinent in general) was once the land of 'itra' (perfumes) as we have abundance of a variety of flowers from which natural perfumes can be prepared. Unfortunately, India now processes its flowers to export the extracts to western countries and Indians then buy expensive perfumes and deodorants laced with carcinogens at very high prices. Domestic perfume industry must be promoted and curbs must be put in place on perfumes laced with toxic chemicals and studies should be conducted on these imported perfumes to assess their risks to health and safety. This could save/generate billions in revenue.

In the past, I remember some bone-fitter shops on the streets. I guess most of them have disappeared across India because these skills were invalidated by the previous governments. But many of these people have understood human anatomy and have valuable experiences in helping heal fractured/displaced bones, inflammation of muscles and India should ensure that we do not loose out on such skilled people (if they still exists). Same goes for the vaidyas who could tell the status of health just by gauging the pulse on the wrist. India needs to rediscover and keep alive such talents. And lastly, we had Unaani medicine which has almost disappeared. This too needs to be promoted.
