The National Energy Conservation Day is being celebrated every year on December 14 since 1991. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the aegis of Ministry of Power spearheads the celebrations every year. The objective to celebrate the National Energy Conservation Day is to drive mass awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation.

According to me there are some habbits to adopt in our daily routines that can helpful in energy saving: • Switch of fans and lights before leaving the room. • Avoid misuse or overuse of electronic appliances. • Try to store solar energy. • Avoid overligthting until there is no use of because energy saving most important than anyone's showoff. • Making people aware of energy saving at our workplace, home, neighbourhood, friend circle, etc. • Try to avoid over Facilation of gadgets that consume too much energy. Use natural lighting as much as possible, and turn off lights when not in use. You can also install motion-sensor lights or timers to reduce unnecessary lighting. - Choose energy-efficient appliances and equipment, such as LED bulbs, solar panels, and smart thermostats. These can help you save money and reduce your carbon footprint. - Use renewable energy sources, such as wind, hydro, or biomass, to power your home or business. You can also purchase green energy from your utility provider or join a community solar project. Reduce your water consumption, by installing low-flow faucets and showerheads, fixing leaks, and collecting rainwater for gardening. You can also use cold water for washing clothes and dishes, and avoid running the tap unnecessarily. Recycle and reuse materials, such as paper, plastic, metal, and glass, to reduce waste and save resources. You can also compost your organic waste, such as food scraps and yard trimmings, to create natural fertilizer for your plants.

The storm water drainage channels should be closed to avoid breeding of mosquitos and other insects. But in Trichy city drainage channels constructed at Canara bank colony, Vayalur road are constructed on both sides of roads, converting the streets very narrow and are all open .Foul smell is emanating throughout the year as water is stagnant all along. Corporation authorities are not all heeding to citizens' complaints.

Load vs production chart of electricity may be made available in the concerned website synchronised with time . Cumulative tariff rate may be removed & uniform usage bill to be encouraged. Let the users utilise the electricity in scheduled manner so that production vs load is uniform always.
