Turn Off Unused Lights: Home lighting accounts for about 15% of total energy use in your home. Occasionally, you may leave the room lights on while no one is around, resulting in excessive energy costs. Make it a habit to turn off the lights when a room is unused or unoccupied to save electricity at home. Unplug Unused Appliances: After using a particular appliance at home, some tend to leave it plugged in. However, many plugged appliances still draw electricity even when unused or turned off (even when they’re deemed super efficient: induction cooker). Make sure you unplug appliances and turn off the lights in your house after each usage to save more energy. Utilize Natural Lights: Limit your home lighting usage by utilizing natural lights, especially during the daytime. Natural light brightens the room during the day without having to use electricity. In addition, natural light tends to reduce your blood pressure and stress, as well as boosting your immune system.

Energy saving is same as money saving. Every citizen of country must forward their hands to make successful this mission. It's not a duty of government to save energy but government should offer devices or equipments that are energy efficient in front of people so that they can make use of energy efficient equipments to save energy.

Energy efficient products for your home There are many different products you can purchase to improve your home’s energy efficiency and reduce your overall energy consumption. Below are some examples of ways you can leverage renewable energy sources and reduce your dependence on fossil fuels: Solar panels: Solar panels can help you use available energy from the sun to power your home, so you can harness that energy to power your home. Solar batteries: You can install solar batteries when you install solar panels, allowing you to store the extra solar energy your panels generate when the sun goes down as well as other benefits like increased energy savings. Heat pumps: An alternative to having two different HVAC systems to heat and cool your home, air source heat pumps are a type of heating and cooling system that moves heat inside during the winter and outside during the summer.

Saving energy doesn't mean you have to do less or sacrifice any creature comforts. Thanks to new, more efficient (and often affordable) tech, it's easier than ever to get more out of your home while conserving electricity and other fuels, shrinking your utility bill, and reducing your environmental impact. Here are some of the lowest-hanging fruit you can start picking off in your home. 1. Replace your light bulbs 2. Use smart power strips 3. Install a programmable or smart thermostat 4. Purchase energy-efficient appliances 5. Reduce your water heating expenses 6. Install energy-efficient windows 7. Upgrade your HVAC system: An HVAC system comprises heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. 8. Weatherize your home 9. Insulate your home 10. Get a home energy audit 11. Wash your clothes in cold water when possible 12. Clean or replace your air filters 13. Use your toaster oven 14. Use natural light 15. Dress for the weather 16. Adjust your day to day behaviors

DON'T WASTE THE NATURAL RESOURCES . THESE ARE MOSTLY NON RENEWABLE RESOURCES WHICH MEANS IT CAN ONLY BE USED FOR ONCE. SO DON'T WASTE THEM UNNECESSARILY OR ELSE IN THE FUTURE WE WILL END UP LOSING ALL THE NATURAL RESOURCES THAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW.

The optimal temperature to keep your fridge at is between 30 and 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Keeping it any lower will waste unnecessary energy. In the winter time, the sun is your best friend. If you find yourself feeling tempted to grab a heater on a cold, try throwing open your blinds first to let the sun rays heat the interior of your house. It can make a bigger difference than you'd think. Tight fitting lids on pots and pans can greatly reduce the energy needed to cook a meal. Make sure yours fit properly to cut heat loss, as this will save energy and reduce your cooking time so you can enjoy your favorite meals sooner. This simple change can add up to big time energy and money savings over time. Microwaves use up to 80% less energy that their stove counterparts. So instead of using the stove to reheat your leftovers, give your microwave its time to shine.

Whenever possible, air dry your clothes. Not only will you save energy, but the fabric will last longer and look crisper. Let your dishes air dry instead of using the drying cycle on your dishwasher. You can do this by simply turning it off before it starts. Believe it or not, this simple change has the potential to save you hundreds of dollars a year. Screensavers on your computer can cost you in energy over time. Turn on the sleep mode instead. One portable heater can cost almost 20 cents an hour to run. The cost of using one for 8 hours a day everyday can cost you close to $50 a month. And there's nothing efficient about that. Have a battery charger for your phone, tablet, or computer? Remember to unplug it when you're not charging these items, or when the batters are fully charged. This will do wonders for the life of your battery and save a lot of energy.
