The strings of India's development have been inseparably attached to the success of its Textiles sector. The industry's symbiotic relationship with agriculture widens the range of beneficiaries.

•4.5 crore people are directly employed while another 6 crores are indirectly in this sector with a considerable stake of women and rural population.

•5% of the global trade in textiles and apparel is to India's credit.

•India's centuries-old knowledge and expertise in this sector have positioned it as the world's 2nd largest manufacturer and exporter with a 12% share in total exports (2018-19).

And now we, at the Textiles Ministry have our sights set on achieving global leader status for India. Government under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has been pushing for innovation and incentives to realise the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by bolstering exports, quality & productivity, competitiveness, technology up-gradation, research & development, and training & skill development in this industry.

Now, we are keen to listen to the suggestions of Industry experts, innovators, students, business leaders, and all other contributors to this sector to expedite our mission. As we mark the 75th year of India's Independence, we want you to have an increased stake in the success of the Textiles industry.

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th August 2021.

HI Jai Hind, Sir i think textile is known very much in the world itself. Gujarat "Surat -The textile City" But in India it's need to grow intirely in all states and share each other's work and fashion as Team India for Textile industry. so we should make a city in all states like Surat,so that we can produce the fashion culture of the states with new ideas and also generate the vacancies for jobs. thanks🌹🙏

My Government should create e-learning education at very minimum cost to upgrade the basic skills like computer, manufacturing, money management, etc. To make AatmaNirbhar Bharat dream come true. Supporting themself and country economy would be the aim. referring to country like Singapore is an example, Which upgrade their citizens to 1 or 2 Months course plus getting job or giving support to start his own business by giving grant. Kindly contact me for further discussion and make it happen.

How about making the cut off same for all castes in all gov exams (let the reservation be there) and then let the competition go on. I know gov is greedy for votes and will not do this (not blaming bjp as all parties are greedy for votes). But think once its a good idea.

1. Traditional clothing should be made world-class with huge use of modern technology. 2. It should be taught at the school level as a subject. 3. It is important to believe that a person can make a career out of clothing manufacturing. 4. Those who are discontinue their study should be identified from the grassroots level and provided with training on clothing making and ensure employment and self-reliance. 5.
