Bamboo has been the lifeline of rural India since time immemorial. With the passage of time and development of technologies leading to new usage, the 'green gold' has turned into a potential game changer for rural economy - for the farmer and industry equally.

With this background and number of progressive measures including the amendment of the Indian Forest Act to remove bamboo outside forests from the definition of 'trees', the restructured National Bamboo Mission (NBM) was launched in 2018-19 for the development of complete value chain of bamboo sector linking growers (farmers) with industry starting from raising quality planting material, plantation, creation of facilities for collection, aggregation, processing, micro, small & medium enterprises, skill development and brand building initiative in a cluster approach mode.

‘National Bamboo Mission’ invites farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, bamboo-based industry to send in their experiences, innovations, and good practices adopted for increased productivity, strengthen supply of raw material to industry, products in sync with contemporary markets, REPLACE SINGLE USE PLASTICS, new age construction, and other sunrise uses.

🙏 Respected Prime Minister Sir, Bamboo as a structural material. Bamboo, (subfamily Bambusoideae), subfamily of tall treelike grasses of the family Poaceae, comprising more than 115 genera and 1,400 species. Vertical Garden made by Bamboo in bamboo pot grow small root leafy vegetables i.e. Spinach, Coriander, Methi, Flowers & Betel leaves etc. cockpit and irrigation by saline bottle. Bamboo made Vegetables pot fixed on borders of farm & road play pivote role of Fencing & utilities waste land🙏

Bamboo usage is ancestral in India. Abundant and strong fiber with cheaply available in the forest areas. It helps rural and tribal people a lot in generating employment and thus helping to increase rural economics. Furniture, Handicrafts, thatched house roof, wood, house construction material, huts, and semi piccha houses are built with bamboo.we obtain bamboo rice also.

Bamboo is considered as one of the important wooden plant in India. Since it came into use in various fields and industry like in handicraft industry for make bamboo baskets ( commonly known as सुप, टोकरी ). In North East and hilly region of India, it is used as pipe for irrigation purpose as it is hollow from inside. Moreover bamboo is also used for construction purposes of tents, buildings & apartments. If we promote bamboo cultivation, then it will be proved as employment sector in India

It is good that Bamboo grown on non forest area is taken out of the category of tree as it belongs to grass family. Now, it can be grown and cut by individuals without any need for government permission. It will benefit tribals because they can make various traditional eatables and handicrafts with bamboo and earn some extra money. Industries will benefit as now they can use bamboo in import substitute items such as paper pulp which has to be mainly imported due restrictions on tree cutting.

भारतीय संस्कृति मे जीवन से मृत्यु शय्या तक बांस का बहुत बड़ा योगदान है । अतः सरकार को बांस के उत्पादन को प्रोत्साहित करना चाहिए।

My innovations and experiences in the bamboo value chain is very limited since we are born and brought up in National capital Delhi and bamboo value chain is very rare and seen in Delhi. Bamboo value chain is important in river or sea area which is helpful in making bridges or ships but in Delhi like city there opportunity is very rare and selected but important for decorations and making chairs or tables. bamboo value chain requires initiative to build its art for future generations to.

बांस भारत में कहीं भी हो सकता है इसकी खेती भी आसान है तथा इसका प्रयोग बहुत सारी चीजों मै होता है यदि बांस को बढ़ावा दे तो इससे रोजगार भी बढ़ेंगे और अर्थव्यवस्था भी बढ़ेगी
