I read 2 articles in NDTV in my mobile NDTV app, which I read every day. Interestingly, 2 articles made me thinking to write this post. One articles is in India related to Rohtak gang rape case. The other article related to Singapore where a person from India plead guilty for molesting a 44 years woman in new year party and awarded to 10 months imprisonment and 3 canes. What is canes? If you want to know more see the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caning_in_Singapore for details. Continue....

I sincerely hope that I get a chance to work for this initiative and tell that she is a daughter, not a property that needs to be restored in a house and made to 'look' educated so as to find her a good match. She is an equal, she has equal rights to grab opportunities, she is as good as your SON..maybe even better. Parents often hide behind the shield of 'we are worried for ur safety', sure they are..but ensuring safety is what should be done..not to tell her that don't achieve cz it'snot safe!

In a country like India, BETI ko kabhi mat PADHAO because then she dreams and wants to fly. f you can't give her the wings, don't even let her know that the skies exist. I wish parents never gave birth to daughters if they never felt that daughters are equals. If the parents question the girl's every move so as to ensure that in any way the so called 'reputation' of the family is not at stake, how does the self confidence of the girl shatters?? Does anyone ever care?

Dear Mr. Modi, I request you to address the concern that why is it so that a guy who gets an opportunity is the king in the house and for every achievement of a girl, she is asked to hold back, wait till she is married and then she can go ahead to pursue her dreams if her husband permits. Is the idea of an ideal daughter only this that even if she is allowed to work, she must come home & do all the chores?? If she fails to cook, is she not a good daughter?? Are the parameters so narrow?

The parents love their daughters but only till the time she is confined within the 4 walls of the house. She is told everyday every time that she is just a liability which they want to pass on to another family and then she can do 'whatever the in-laws allow her to do'. Dear Parents, I request you that pls do not educate your daughters if you can't give them the canvas to draw their paintings. Pls do not tell them that they need to be educated only to 'get a good match'.

BETI BACHAO par BETI MAT PADHAO I am a girl and with a very heavy heart I say that in a country like India, there is no concept of a 'successful girl'. In today's day, people will save daughters & educate them but in the most educated families too the concept of a successful girl is a total non existent idea. The workplace offers many opportunities but every time she is asked not to accept any..why?? 'Because you are a GIRL'. A bitter truth told- 'U r everything but after all u are not a SON!'
