My parents treated me on par with my brothers and I had access to the best education a girl could get at the time. When I finished my studies I began to work and live an independent life in Delhi as my parents had moved out of the city. I have had a good career over the past 35 years. My only regret is that as a single woman I have not been able to buy a home for myself. The government needs to single women to be able to buy an apartment at a fair price and quota.

Girl child education should be one of the most and immediate priority. govt. is already moving forward with the policy.it is important to ensure that the benefit reaches out to the poorest community. Our gram pradhans and Panchayat representatives will have to come out of poor mentality to enforce this schemes.

Get rid of VIP culture.Three times British Prime Minister,Stanley Baldwin drove such small car that people dreaded to go with him cramped up.Olaf Palme used to ride bicycle to his PM office. Stop jumping queues anywhere. Reduce retinue, convoys. Stop arrogance immediately. What happened to swatch? where is 24x7. Don't stop traffic except for President and PM.-Dr.P.V.Jois

We Our govt doing much for deprived cast people for their development through reservations. Why can't we step towards the development of girls specially women for providing reservations in govt jobs as well as in promotions also. just think it once with this we may increase the dignity of women in the society and it boosts the parents to encourage their girl children towards studies and for bright future.

girls more issue are only on family n her society who talk as 'girls n boys are equal for our' but when baby girl born that time they forget about line which they speech always. actually partiality born our mind. why we not look as a modern way??.. why we look as girls are our rresponsibility?? if girls n boys are equal for me.. then why should girls as burden?? i think we change our vision about girls n boys...we give same opportunity, then automatic more issue solve it self...

Is this just a sharing blog-like thing? What if I wanted to work with the government in creating some programmes aimed at sensitising students related to gender inequality?

I found a startling thing today - Amazon.in, Flipkart, Junglee, Naaptol, Google, Microsoft and Yahoo: Stop Advertising and Selling Products and Publications that Promote Gender Biased Sex Selection. A Petition has been started in Change.org to ask these online retailers to stop this practice. Would encourage all the members of this group to sign the petition - http://goo.gl/rgMJMo. I would also request the Ministry of Women and Child welfare to take cognizance and necessary action of the same.
