India’s Handloom sector is a symbol of our glorious cultural heritage and is an important source of livelihood in the country.

The first National Handloom Day was held on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On this day, the handloom weaving community is honoured and their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country is highlighted, and the resolve to protect our handloom heritage and to empower the handloom weavers and workers with greater opportunities is reaffirmed.

Let us, together, ensure the sustainable development of the handloom sector by supporting our handloom weavers and workers for their exquisite craftsmanship.

As we approach National Handloom Day, we invite you to come forward & support the Handloom weavers/artists by sharing your photos or videos wearing or using Handloom products. The best pictures and videos will get featured at MyGov – the world’s biggest citizen engagement platform.

In our country, India there are infinite numbers of different traditional handloom weavers. My suggestion is that weavers must wear/use for family members , designer natural handloom cloth not rayon or synthetic cloth. Whatever they weave may not be used only for marketting. Jai hind, jai weaver!

Teach a man to fish 4 living with pride atma nirbhar! shocked ghanchi modi did not do this 4 his own community nor did ambedkar ! or 56" Mullah Modi donating /auctioning his giftsr equity all of 100+ aspirational district would have got their own engineering/medical colleges ap it with MP/MLA lad funds ! the world wud have seen the talent of SC/ST/OBCs own/run/R&D by thousands of deserted jashodaben ghanchis & 0/100 toppers ! shift 50K now . No more quota . experiment in saputara & bastar

Handloom weavers and artisans need to be encouraged by providing global market to them and exchange of talent through our embassies and online platforms

Sir, those who u in power they can do best social services to nation and its people but we enlightened who r the real nationalists bcz contributing our prime youth for safe guarding our nation having very least respectability in society due to our penury in most demanding phase of life and given opportunity to serve in security gaurds & group D service after over of prime age, how far is it justiceable in a developed democracy and then fooling us in every aspect of daily life? pls ask toserveall

Namaste, textile and handlooms industry has big business specially for small business. we should support India's small business to celebrate handlooms day. I have also a small business called "Untraditional Knot" and here is my work... please check this out 😊😊😊

SC/ST /OBC r highly talented , Y not have engineering/medical colleges in 100+ aspirational districts & 90 % reserved for them locals & reserach on old traditions. They r flourshing with not much of development . all 0/100 toppers should get in these institutes 1st . Exchange/migrate on merit . Y can't gujarat govt begin with Saputara . Convert Gujarat PSU guest houses + CSR amount for same maintenance. No more quota in most other Guj Colleges. can quick start in 2021-2022 academic session

Sir, in every petrol pump we see ur larger than life pictures during former petroleum minister regime and still the practice is going on though ur appeal is mass reaching and we feelers voted u with absolute majority twice. what does it state, not only prachar and prashar but something else also though not doing any wrong practices still suplementing party's revenue which is way ahead of any other political parties but dropping Pratap mana fm ministries & keeping corrupt ones do not ahire well.
