Prevention is better than cure. Don't evict people from homes in the name of development. No such person will be able to built a house from the meagre compensation you give. Especially when Income Tax Department is standing with a scissors to cut tax from source from the poor man. Acquire only land bought by black money of businessmen and politicians.

In order to have a successful implementation o the broader vision of sabka sath, sabka vikas, Govt. should stop the en-mass movement of people from rural to urban areas. It only leads to pressure on cities, in-sanitation, poverty, social imbalances, crime, pollution...the list could go on. Govt need to find out way in which the rurals remain in villages and contribute to the economy, environment and national health and happiness from there. Please visit www.ecovillage.org.in for more ideas.
