Allahabad, also known as Prayag, is one of the 13 Smart Cities identified in UP out of 100 in India. It is the administrative headquarters of the Allahabad District. It is one of the largest commercial centers in Uttar Pradesh, having the second-highest per capita income and the third-greatest GDP in the state.

As per 2011 census, Allahabad has a population of 1.17 million (including OG), spread across an area of about 70sqkm. As per the City Development Plan (2015), it is estimated that the city’s population will cross 2 million by the year 2031.Allahabad is one of the major pilgrim/ tourist destinations of the country, resulting in a large floating population (over 100 million pilgrims – MahaKumbhMela 2013).

Allahabad Municipal Corporation (AMC)has plans for the complete revival of the system in city and make the M and E governance available for common public to ensure good governance. As a part of this exercise, AMC intends to have involvement of public in the form of suggestions to make the city smart and improve the living standards.

Allahabad has to formulate its own unique PAN City Smart Solution (A Smart Solution that could be applied City wide) and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.

The Ideal Pan-City Solutions are given below:

1 Conservation
a. Conservation of Lakes, Parks, Playgrounds
b. Restoration and conservation of heritage and rivers
c. Purification of water bodies

2 Electricity
a. LED street lighting
b. Less power cuts and outages
c. Establishment of Smart Grid

3 Environment and Sustainability
a. Recycling of Waste
b. Clean roads and streets
c. Zero discharge of pollution into river

4 Governance
a. Citizen friendly Smart Governance- m-Governance
b. Single window system (e-governance)

5 Housing
a. Housing for poor
b. Toilets (Individual and Public)

6 Safety and Security
a. Improve disaster management/ response
b. Greater road safety measures
c. Safety for women, children & senior citizens
d. Improved lighting at public places
e. Public health & hygiene

7 Solid Waste Management
a. Dustbins at public places
b. Regular & timely collection at door step
c. No dumping of garbage at landfill
d. Scientific disposal of solid waste

8 Transport and Mobility
a. Better parking facilities
b. Better Public transport facilities
c. Encroachment free pathways and widening of roads
d. Integrated mass transport, mobility and connectivity

9 Tourism
a. Better tourist amenities and facilities (esp. during KumbhMela)
b. Riverfront development activities

10 Water Supply and Sewage
a. Control on unauthorized connections
b. Clean river/ water bodies
c. 24 X 7 water
d. Equitable water distribution

11 Other Infrastructure
a. Parks, Entertainment and Leisure Destinations
b. Skill Development Centers
c. Slum Rehabilitation / Upgradation / Improvement
d. Sports and games
e. Wi-Fi and internet connectivity

There is no drainage system in Jhunsi (specially Chaitanya Nagar and chatnag road). Jhunsi is large area of Allahabad with majority population, It should be focused for development. More numbers of JNUNRM Buses should run including few AC buses and no posters should be there on Public transport and public places. Banners should be only on hoardings. Roads and drainage should be proper inside colonies.Enable online registration for voterid (there is no response online).

The proposal is good but one thing i would like to request. The architects and urban planners should be given first importance for planning rather than following requirements of influencers... Also pls try to integrate all the divisions.. Like application based transport.. Where u can track n plan your trip based on application... Laying of fibre optic cable should be carried out in such a way that underground system shall have enough space for future requirements

First of all the drainage system of Allahabad city must be taken care of. The low line areas of Allahapur,Georgetown,TagoreTown must be taken a good care as in rain the drainage system of these areas are almost blocked causing semi-flood type situation.Secondly,smart city would only be considered smart when the waste disposal mechanism arrangement should be get improved.The city should be under Cctv camera surveillance and Metro should be in close proximity to all areas.Parking must be available

Plzzz merge Jhunsi in Nagar Nigam Allahabad. And broad all roads in katra allahpur sulemsaray old cities like Kydganj daraganj muthhiganj khuldabaad beniganj and Jhunsi awas vikas colony. Open shopping mall and cinema 🎦 hall in Jhunsi . Keep clean Jhunsi not in free. Ban polythene . First of all remove banners and posters from city and clear all electric poll and traffic signals from ads banner and hoarding. Break all round crossing made in d middle of crossings. Make all road like Lala laajpat

People should take in account themselves on how to make their City smart. They should not through garbage etc. on roads, in front of neighbors houses, in the parks. Nagar Nigam can provide us with the amenities but it is the sole responsibility of citizens of Allahabad to co-operate with the authorities and not just blaming the corporation.

Allahabad development Authority (ADA) and Allahabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) websites need to be updated on regular basis. Websites of these two departments may prove a major source of information updating the public with new government plans, ongoing and future development works in Allahabad etc.

Digitalization of all the departments is a must thing that should be done on priority basis in Allahabad. It will ease the speedy settlement of public grievances at the comfort of home.

1- Broader roads with divider n green belt to reduce traffic jam. 2- Rain water recycling unit to maintain underground water label 3- Earthquake resistance buildings. 4 - Proper Law nd order should be maintained. 5 - City bus facility should be improved. 6 - Metro train. 7 - CCTV cameras on majar streets. 8 - Garbage dumping facility. 9 - Proper drainage system in every locality. 10 - Wi-fi availability on major super markets.
