The Government of lndia has launched an ambitious "Smart Cities Mission" to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and a good quality of life to its citizens, a clean and sustainable environment with the application of 'Smart' Solutions'. The Government of India have identified Warangal as one of the 100 cities to participate for the smart city challenge.

In this context, the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) is in the process of preparing the Smart City Proposal. The GWMC seeks valuable suggestions of the citizens to formulate the vision for the Smart City Warangal.

A strategic vision shapes a preferred future for a city. A successful vision has economic, spatial, social and environmental dimensions that reflect a city’s unique physical and cultural traits; it provides direction for the activities of the Corporation, citizens and stakeholders; and ensures that citizens, city agencies, and stakeholders are working towards those shared sub-goals. The vision statement should inspire our city’s residents and can even become the branding for our smart city.

The Smart City Advisory Forum of Warangal shall evaluate the vision statement and award the best three entries.

Note: Please restrict to a maximum of 50 words.

Kindly, post your views and ideas till 31st October, 2015.

To make any city as a best living, it should have better education facilities, water, power, healthy and hygiene conditions and mainly it should generate sustainable revenue on it's own. Even though govt spend hundreds of crores on infrastructure, if the city is not capable of maintaining it, they all will go waste. For Warangal city, 1. Provide irrigation facilities to surrounding areas. 2. Establish cotton mills. 3. Start food processing industries. 4. Start promised railway coach factory.

This is the historical place and revenue can be generated by improving tourism in and around the city. Being just 2.5 to 3 hours away from hyderabad, vistors wish to take a ride to look at interior parts of the state and know the culture if there is proper tourism package available. It will be a good idea if better rail transportation to/from hyderabad which helps to reduce population density in hyderabad. All the best for Digital India.

The water people receive at home should be drinkable without needing any extra purification process. I would't call a city "smart" if even as basic need as pure water is not served to its citizen. I am really glad this city is selected to become a smart city. :) I am really excited to see the changes. #SmartCity #MyGov

Mr.prime minister I would like to request you to change the company laws related to a private limited co. The directors of a private limited co. Should be made personally liable for the debts they owe to others. Otherwise such directors open one Co. And make their debtors and don't repay their liabilities and leave the Co. As it is and open a new Co. With new directors. So the person is unable to get back his liabilities from the Co. Or the directors and the directors eat all his money.

I think we need to use technology to solve the challenges of building a smart city, we do a a lot of hackathons for Governmental Organisations to solve daily issues via technology and then use them. Let's do a similar hackathon at Warangal, where we can address the problems and find solutions via technology.

Warangal is a historic city with lot of famous monuments. I would recommend in restoring historic sites and building tourism plans around it. Also it is a educational hub, so build world class facilities for students studying with access to discussions with international educational organizations and corporates. It is just 3 hrs from Hyderabad so link up using fast paced rail and road links.
