In an endeavor to promote & underline the importance of 'Action Plan for Introduction of Cheetah in India’, PM Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat asked citizens for suggestions on the Names of the Cheetahs!

The seven horses are named after the seven meters of Sanskrit prosody: Gayatri, Brihati, Ushnih, Jagati, Trishtubha, Anushtubha and Pankti.

Leela,Maala,Nirmala,Komala,Shanthala and Arun,Akash,Akshay.These names for Cheetahs are easy to pronouncement, easy to differentiate between male and female, meaningful and Sounds good.
