In an endeavor to promote & underline the importance of 'Action Plan for Introduction of Cheetah in India’, PM Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat asked citizens for suggestions on the Names of the Cheetahs!

Chetak (to resemble fastness and namesake of Maharana Pratap's horse) Nambha (combination of two words, Namibia and Bharat, to recognise partnership b/w the two) Chitraa (feminine for sanskrit derivative for cheetah which means spotted) Tivraa (feminine for fastness, tivra) Devyani (Like a Goddess, Serving the gods, Chariot of the gods) Gargi (ancient Indian philosopher and Brahmavadini. She also contributed in Rig Veda and is also considered nature's enquirer)
