PSU banks need to improve their internet banking services greatly and make it user-friendly. In one of my accounts with BOI have been struggling since over a year - but without success. For that to be the case in 2014 is indeed very funny/strange. For two other accounts in same branch there is no problem!

Why can't access my multiple accounts in the same bank in one login name? I.e my pension account, my joint account and my husband's pension account.

First is to properly remunerate staff, secondly to have a proper human resources division in banks who know what do with their resources i.e staff, thirdly proper grooming of staff, especially newly recruited and final step should be to have a professional setup and organisation structure to execute steps effectively because the no deadline to finish attitude is driving PSB's to become an NPA for the economy. another factor that could help is to have a strong legal setup to counter defaulters.

ATM Service: Continue 3 • All PS banks ATM machines should provide Denomination of 10, 20, 50, and 100 as MOST of the time customer is provided only 500, 1000 Denomination notes WHICH IS UNNECESSARY and the fact is 99% time, you don’t get CHANGE when you produce 500,1000 any shopkeeper for small purchases. If smaller denomination notes are provided then BANK CASH OUTFLOW can be minimised.

To improve performance of PS Banks make all transactions fast such as clearing outstation cheques etc. Make it digital rather than still sticking to old practices of getting DD,Cheques at bank.. Make it available for users at there home only. Also dont restrict the number of transactions in ATM.This gives extra work for the bank employee.

ATM Service: Continue 2 • Providing an ATM balance statement receipt is also a huge cost/manpower involved. • The RECEIPT from ATM machine is actually of NO USE and not usable in any sense (Ink goes off in few days) • If SMS on all transactions is ensured, the receipt is NOT required.

ATM Service: • Presently all PS banks invest in ATM machine/guards/rental space which is a huge cost. • All PS banks should come together and finalise a logical ATM network in METRO and sub metro cities/town/villages. • All PS banks should ENSURE parking in and around the ATM locations which is VERY RARE in case of PRESENT network in India. • All PUC banks should allow “all ATM transactions” at all ATM machine networks.

PSBs should be allowed to open rural subsidiaries which should function for the rural people. Latest technology shd be provided to these subsidiaries. Separate cadre and wage rates can be considered if feasible. What we want are small banks friendly to the small man; not hi-tech forbidding banks.

the banking system despite undergoing a IT revolution is still slow and can be directly attributed to the slowness of the staff who do not respond to customers in the desired manner. ATM can help shed the load a branch is subjected to by making draft facility available at ATMs similarly FDs, RDs can also be done via ATM card linked transaction at the ATM kiosk.
