The Tumakuru City Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected under Round 2 for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). Round 2 of smart cities challenge has been provided to 54 cities to upgrade their proposals whose city is not covered in the list of 20. Tumakuru is one of them! In this phase, our city has to compete with 54 other cities, enhance our proposal and become eligible for funding in 2016-17.

The city has been revised its Vision as “Transforming Tumakuru from a mere edge city of Bangalore to the most preferred destination within the region with a strong focus on economic development by providing enhanced connectivity, high quality of life, ecological integration and inclusive development.”

Designers orient windows and walls and place awnings, porches, and trees to shade windows and roofs during the summer while maximizing solar gain in the winter. In addition, effective window placement (day lighting) can provide more natural light and lessen the need for electric lighting during the day.
