Allahabad is a historic religious and educational city of India.cleanliness important of all historical and religious place and monument i.e. river Ganga and Yamuna Akbar qila ulta qilla high court etc. Riverfront development activities is essential. University of Allahabad many years ago called Oxford of the East so we have to return this glory.last but not least traffic jam and parking problem.

Allahabad to be developed as a smart city. First basic thing is to develop it as a clean city. Heaps of garbage can be seen lying in lanes and by-lanes. Cattle menace is also another problem. Nagar nigam digs up roads and dont bother to relay them. traffic rules should be strictly enforced and encroachments should be removed. Master plan and Zonal plans should be strictly implemented and building sanction must be according to the plans

For every smart city widened roads and fast traffic are the fundamental requirements. Allahabad is almost up to mark but I want to suggest that while doing digging work all the government agencies/ contractors should not be allowed to go further without bringing the road in its old shape. They often leave the roads without giving them proper shape and such practices lead a lakhs of rupees into waste.

Allahabad City is surrounded on three sides by Ganga, Yamuna & Invisible Saraswati. It is a very Important, Historical & religious place in respect of Tourism. So, that keeping the tourism first in priority list, We can make a city more smarter and I request to the local people for keeping the city clean.

It should be responsibility of the citizens to ensure long term sustainability of investments to be made in the city, and therefore, 100% computer literacy and 100% value education with best educational practices should be in place by next 5 to 10 years’ time-frame. This would be inevitable for sustenance of a smart city for a longer time frame.

However, all such dream may become true only with smart application of technology and commitment of the citizens to pay for availing such services would be the necessary to make the smart city self- sustainable. However, the town planners should foresee the citizens’ requirement at least up to the year 2050, and accordingly all the service providers should plan to augment respective schemes, but with low carbon foot print.

It is also pertinent to consider similar development of neighbouring towns / peripheral rural area (Rural-Urban interface) as the city shall remain depended on its neighbourhood for providing very many civic services. A clustered approach to develop a greater city should therefore be in focus and a master plan for the year 2050 for Greater Development Area should be prepared in parallel with developing a ‘smart city’.
