Volunteers are needed at almost all the places in this particular aspect, as we can not predict disasters happening at any time at any place. NSS and NCC volunteers to be roped and trained so as to have an effective use. Under this govt and private management joint operation is expected so as to have a better results.

Tragically but true that youth can play a role only when they know what to do. Govt. Must make it a necessity to Impose on schools and colleges to conduct emergency drills such as in a fire mishap, a bomb blast, a nuclear strike, tsunami, earthquake depending upon he region and on basic First Aids and Laws of the ground in such situations. The govt. Must ensure that all citizens are trained and taught these essential and crucial things. #DisasterMitigation #YouthDevelopment

This post is on “Ambulance on Street”. In this fast running world all are hurry to reach somewhere but they forgotten that someone’s life is more important than their work. This problem is common in big cities that Ambulance always got stucked in traffic and due to this many lost their life on road only. Is this not possible that if Ambulance is behind you then all the LEFT side vehicles get slow down and the RIGHT side Vehicles are get fit in LEFT side then Ambulance can get way to proceed.

Awareness programmes can be held to give the citizens adequate information and the safety measures needed to be taken during a natural calamity especially focusing on the area. For eg :- In coastal areas, people can be given information on how to tackle cyclones. People in the north can be given the safety measures during an earthquake. Mobile numbers can be taken for urgent messaging if information is known about a calamity.

The first and foremost priority for us must be be to increase awareness about disaster risk. When youth in particular and people at large recognize a threat then they try to fit in that situation (participate and try to find their role). School and college students can be very effectively used to spread the awareness about disaster risk and it should be added to the course on environmental education with home exercise/projects for parents to participate.

If we wish to reach wider audience pamphlets can be distributed in newspapers which can enlist the below: 1. Knowledge of small irregularities which can lead to disaster. For example, building contructed with low grade material will not sustain earthquake tremors, or fire fighting equipment missing in buildings, stairs/ evacuation signs not in place 2. Approach/ steps to be taken whenever they observe any such events in their area/ vicinity 3. Knowledge on disaster management can be provided
