The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources. India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica. Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP. For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower. Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Hi!I'm from B'lore...Seeing the worse than deathly situations of small girls in schools, I've a suggestion,which if MADE MANDATORY would help India.I think in schools there must be a rule that any 2 parents in the form of squads are allowed to enter school campus wherever they want to(classroom last bench,playground,terrace),all this happening without the notice of students & teachers,this should be done as parents care for their children&have all the rights to know evrything that is going on.

Just Like IIT's and IIM's Mining Institutes in each state can churn out Graduate Engineers who can world around the World in various mines. Many Indian Own Mines abroad but prefer to appoint Overseas Mining experts because Indians are not competent enough nor do they have any exposure to real situations? Why so?

We very well know that almost nothing is taught in schools about mining and its skill set requirements. Very few know how they can get skills for the mining industry. I feel there is only one mining Institute at Dhanbad and Admission in that too is through a national Competitive exam, which most of the times are all manipulated by Governing Officials of the Mining Industry. Just like IITs and IIMs India needs Mining Institutes in each State specific to the Minerals present in that state.

There should be government intervention int he private organizations too. Employees of the private companies should be taught about the labour rights and the ministries they can approach if feel that they are being harassed. There should be a concept of employee union like labour unions. which should have constitutional rights. those who can approach government as well if feel that the rights of the employees are being violated. This would encourage the youth to voice out without any fear.

I live in MP and i am an advocate, MP Judiciary increased the civil pecuniary jurisdiction of Civil Judges unto 1 Caror. This would create curruption, so that, Judiciary should make strict mechanism to keep check on delivering judgment by them. We know that due to inflation such limit was increased but simultaneously we should make sound mechanism. Civil Judges mostly do not acquaint, why it was increased and they may indulge into corruption having large limit of jurisdiction, ppl may suffer

Why we don't improve the situations on the existing industries especially service industry first then creating the new ones? employees especially youngsters are being exploit in these industries. Government don't even intervene because these are big corporate houses. Management don't even care what the employees are going through. Noone can approach the higher management and those who do be victimized and have to leave the job. it requires special attention sir.

स्वच्छ भारत अभियान को आगे बढ़ाते हुए हमें एक और कदम उठाना होगा । 21 वी सदी के भारत में बढ़ते संसाधनों से वायु प्रदुषण बढ़ रहा है वक्त रहते अगर इस पर काबू नही पाया गया तो खामियाजा भुगतना पड़ेगा इसलिए देश के लोगों से प्रधान सेवक अगर स्वच्छ भारत की तरह "प्रदुषण मुक्त भारत " बनाने की कोशिश करेंगे तो हम स्वच्छता में एक कदम और आगे बढ़ेंगे । धन्यवाद

Sir, I watched Satyamev Jayte today. the topic was mental illness and Depression. the working environment int he call centers just clicked into my mind. Where youngsters are being forced to work at a stretch of 10 to 12 hrs. No leave on festivals so that they can spend time with their families. If they report it then get the answer they have chosen this career. Which cause depression and results suicides at times as well. Its time to think about this urgently.

Vocational Training is not taken seriously neither by students nor by universities. Students should be inspired to take the training program seriously. In mining sector to develop good skill set more mining engg/diploma colleges are required. Very few colleges are there. Contractor must train labors on the safety issues. They should get proper equipment. To regulate it mining firm should have certain exp in the field and they must hire local skilled people and also contribute on local skill de
