विभिन्न नागरिक केंद्रित सेवाओं के वितरण और बीमा सहित विभिन्न वित्तीय सेवाओं की पहुंच बनाने के लिए भारत सरकार ने एक कार्य दल का गठन किया है जो ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में स्थित कार्यालयों और दूरवर्ती क्षेत्रो में डिजिटल / इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी प्रदान करने और पहुँचाने से संबंधी जांच करेगा और और डाकघर नेटवर्क के कुशल उपयोग और उन्नयन के लिए सुझाव देगा जिससे ये सेवाएं ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में उपलब्ध कराई जा सके।

इस नेटवर्क का प्रयोग केन्द्र सरकार, राज्य सरकार और निजी क्षेत्र के उद्योगों की ​​विभिन्न योजनाओं और सेवाओं के वितरण के लिए किया जाएगा।
नागरिकों से निम्नलिखित बिन्दुओं पर सुझाव अपेक्षित हैं:

विभिन्न नागरिक केंद्रित सेवाओं, योजनाओं, उत्पादों के वितरण के लिए कुशल डाक संबंधी नेटवर्क उपलब्ध कराने के लिए केन्द्रीय सरकार के मंत्रालयों / विभागों [स्थानीय स्वशासन सहित] राज्य सरकारों और निजी क्षेत्र के उद्यमों के लिए डाकघर की स्थापना [विशेष रूप से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों और छोटे शहरों में] कहाँ की जाए
बीमा उत्पादों सहित वित्तीय समावेशन में डाकघर की भूमिका को बढ़ाना
डाक घर और डाकघर नेटवर्क के लिए आवश्यक बुनियादी सुविधाएँ और
डाक घर को आर्थिक रूप से कैसे मजबूत बनाया जा सकता है

In the Postal clerical level, there is absence of restful phases in life, relaxation, etc...The postal clerical work is mostly repetitive, quantitative, and even tiresome at times. But, the direct recruit I.A.S.officers do enjoy a lot of respect, official powers, etc., whereas, the bottom level or postal clerical level staff have to face many adverse working conditions like frequent power cuts, problems in computer hardware and softwares.

I would like to stress here that the ancient English saying, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, is quite true when it is applied to Postal clerical employees. In the recent times, the number of Postal clerical employees proceeding on Boluntary Retirement has been on the rise, due to constant work pressure, electronic surveillance of daily clerical duties by the deployment of Intenet, lack of motivation, both financially and emotionally.

I am proud that our Postal Service was the backbone for our development and cannot let it go at any given time. Let us think of innovative solution where our postal service can act as a national courier service with such a big reach. With such low cost.It can beat the pvt.courier players and give upright competitions and give a run for their money.Let us have Postal services acts as a micro financing firm under Mudra bank and reach out for the needy and have the rise of the INDIA POST AGAIN.

1. ATMs at all Post offices. 2. Prepaid envelopes of 1 , 2 , 5 , 10, 50 Rs to send across country in different sizes. These should include vending machines 3. Post ATM should allow withdrawals from all banks 4. Post offices should be working on Weekends. Speed Post should have 24 hr service 5. Post should empty boxes twice or thrice a day instead of ones 6. More staff must be recruited to provide these services. Post should accept payments with Debit Cards.

postal services are guided by the british times and a lot has changed since then. like telegram even the money orders and post cards are not relevant in the time of sms,e-mails and other digital means. the government can save a lot of money by discontinuing these and providing other means of commuting. also the stamping on the post are still illegible as before. efforts should be made to improve this.

In India, online retail market is at a roll. It is growing at an exponential rate. Thousands of people in India are buying stuff from online portal such as Flipkart, Snapdeal, Jabong.com, etc. Indian online retailers hire their own delivery boys and professional courier services to deliver the products. Under the brand name of modernisation and computerisation, new changes in the working softwares ( like introduction of Finacle and McCamish) have come to stay. This brings the postal employees to be exposed to new working knowledge, and certain senior employees naturally find it a bit difficult to assimilate the new methodologies. This seems inevitable in any modern organisation.

Due to the electronic surveillance by the higher authorities through the medium of Internet, all the clerical works performed in all INDIAN post offices have become highly porous and transparent for the higher officers. This naturally increases the psychological stress of the working clerical employees. This is one of the bad side effects of computerisation, amidst the hidden benefits associated with modernisation.

The modern post offices in India handle a vast variety of works, especially in the clerical cadre, in the guise of generating more revenues out of the businesses carried out. But, the Banks handle only the Banking works. Hence, the INDIAN post offices perform a lot of agency functions. In the name of modernisation and computerisation, the clerical staff are being subjected to " electronic surveillance " by the higher authorities, since the medium of Internet is deployed.
