Dear All Concerned, I would submit to all humanity that CLEANLINESS is a CULTURE which starts from Childhood and EDUCATION. I would suggest few points for all INDIANS : 1.MAKE COMPULSARY TOILET AT ALL PETROL PUMPS FOR LADIES+GENTS.It will reduce embarancement to Ladies. 2. Fix Responsibility of all Punchayats & Municipality to Create Toilets at every village and city on the basis of population or distance. SELFHELP GROUP MAY BE PROMOTED. anil kumar

Constructing toilet is not the issue, maintenance is the prob. So I suggest constructing Biotoilets as solution. As these toilets can be maintained by locals or people who use them. We dont have to depend on municipality/Govt to maintain them. Utilizing local resource, people we can help construct toilets. Biotoilets r useful in places of water shortage, less connectivity or inefficient drainage system. This will prevent people from defecating in open areas as well.

I have attached ppt on road map for Toilet construction and easy maintenance. This method is very economical, low capital investment, low maintenance cost and requires very minimum water facility. This is very helpful in places of water shortage, improper drainage system and places of poor connectivity. These toilets can be maintained by local bodies and doesn't require special care by govt other than construction & providing basic amenities.I can provide more details if the plan seems feasible.

2 task can be done together, that is creating job and cleaning INDIA, make officers which can look after cities, its cleanliness, roads, greening the cities with tress and plants, where ever anything is required they can tell the municipal corporation that a particular thing has to be done. these officers can be ranked similar to that of traffic policemen or constables or sub inspector, accordingly to there posts and paid acoordingly,i think i have seen this on t.v that this happens in america

Why can't we take help of age old practice of linking life activities with religion. Every village has some temples, having managed by priests ( Poojaris) who have got tremendous respect amongst villagers. They should be trained on cleanliness issues. They can further motivate villages for the same. This would really leave a major impact in psyche of people. Construction of toilets may be one of the target components. Although, suggestion seems very simple yet I believe it would work.

The point I want to bring our does not fall in any category of discussions.. clean India seems to be the closest. Why is it that govt vehicles emit the max black smoke. Why is it that govt travel buses are worst. Why should a govt driver break rules.... Every govt employee should be made responsible for his actions... I gues a step towards clean india

In Haryana about one lac toilets were provided in rural house holds. A good amount of subsidy was also given by Govt of India. But most of these are not in use any more due to one reason or the other. Before we invest more public money in such projects we should consider such things & plan after discussing with rural people & not with officers who sit in A C rooms in the capitals & have little knowledge about perceptions of rural population.
