Smart Cities Mission is one of its kinds and does not follow a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Only a broad framework has been given to cities in which they have to conceptualize their idea of a Smart City and plan their pathway to ‘smartness’.

Ministry of Urban Development has so far selected 60 Smart Cities in various rounds and based on the Smart City Proposals submitted by Cities, this Ministry has started the process to set the standards for the Smart Cities in India. 16 key features have been outlined, which form the guiding framework for the development of Smart Cities in India. Cities have used this framework to determine their pathway towards ‘smartness’ in their SPVs. The framework includes criteria for Smart City features, induction and the benchmarks. Importantly, there are four stages defined in the pathway of Cities towards smartness. Starting with the baseline condition the Smart Cities will progress through the following stages -

• Level 1 – Base case where service levels are less than 50% of the prescribed benchmark
• Level 2 – Service levels are more than 50% of the prescribed benchmark
• Level 3 – Service levels are more than 75% of the prescribed benchmark
• Level 4 – Advanced stage where prescribed benchmark has been achieved

Co-creation of ideas, strategies, innovative and frugal solutions through an extensive consultative process with all stakeholders is mandated in the Smart Cities Mission Guidelines. Therefore, to finalize the standards for Smart Cities, this Ministry has decided to invite suggestions on the draft Standards. Citizen from all walks of life are welcome to be a part of the consultative process and provide valuable inputs. The last date of submission of suggestions is 20th December 2016.

Read- Link - https://www.change.org/p/prime-minister-office-india-no-beggars-in-india?recruiter=289765325&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=share_email_responsive Few might be genuine beggars, few might be as easy choice or by tradition. Need to make arrangements for them: Skill development and job. Asking and giving beg should be a criminal act.

New electronics with upgraded technology are exclusive and render old electronic items useless. A significant number of electronic products is paralleled by an equivalent amount of e-waste, their radiation which pollute Air, water, and soil. Provision for this must be taken into account. Moreover, waste management should not be confined to water waste. Other aspects must be incorporated.capacity building of municipal workers will add to the efficiency, coupled by a smart infra.

Through a vision, a special layout at traffic intersections, it is possible to speed up traffic at traffic intersections, so that 35% -50% more vehicles can go through the intersection in a given time - smoothly and more importantly safely for both vehicles and pedestrians. Each smart city or may be current cities should have single office under one roof for all public services like Tax, passport, insurance, land registration, utilities services and bill payments etc. with centralized data center to have access for customers' all details, so the people can query or avail all public services under one roof hassle free.

In Smart-city make it mandatory for every businessmen and street-vendors of monthly transactions of more than rs10000 to keep either Point-Of-Sale machine or UPI app plus accepting payments by cheques. This way we will give people choice to use cashless way of transactions. Also waive service tax on card-based transactions upto rs30000 and give Point-of-sale machines free of cost. It will encourage the people of Smart-cities to move towards cashless economy.
