The General Aids to Marine Navigation along the Indian Coast is administrated by Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL) as per Lighthouse Act, 1927. Over the period of time maritime sector has undergone massive change. There have been enormous technological developments in the field of Aids to Marine Navigation. To incorporate the global best practices, technological developments and India's International obligations in the field of Aids to Marine Navigation, the Draft Aids to Navigation Bill 2020 is prepared to replace existing Lighthouse Act 1927.

The Draft Aids to Navigation Bill (to replace Lighthouse Act 1927) is hereby circulated for comments of all concerned.

One salient point of this draft Navigation Bill is to convert old Light Houses into tourist spots. It will not only generate revenue but will generate people's interest in otherwise lesser known sphere. I remember enjoying beautiful view of sea beach from top of Vizhinjam Light House. Being a technical person I could also see how a lighthouse works. How their lenses look like and how they transmit light at a fixed frequency. How they communicate emergency situations to vessels in high seas

In draft bill following shall be ensured crossing of water boundaries entrering of suspected boats/ships/objects etc installation of latest and sophisticated radar system along with coast Auto warning system illegal constructions under water movements

The wreckage tagging is very important to avoid collisions in high seas. All wreckage shall be tagged through their location on sea map so that all vessels entering in Indian waters get notified of the same. If the technology permits, depth of highest point of wreckage shall also be notified. In any case all wreckage shall be removed as early as possible.

Navigation bill shall make provision for strict vigil on movement of vessels in Indian territory. All Indian registered vessels shall be identified and their movement shall be logged through GPS. Any movement of vessels not registered in India shall be identified so that 26/11 type incident is not repeated. All vessels shall be mapped similar as Air Traffic Controller keeps track of all the aeroplanes flying in their territory.

Our marine department is the powerful department in india.It is very important to communication is more important for war period. All people in India want to peace, but sometimes our security basis people want protect the sea coast in india. In marine navigation code will new to the world and anyone will not captured that. So we produce good navigation agents to our marine department.

Mera ek sujhav hai ki naye navigation act men public bhagidari per bhi jor diya jaye jisse aaj desh ke border par jo tanav hai us per Janta ko bhi Shamil Kiya jaye chaye bo samudri Seema ho kyonki china hamare dono seemaon par tanav peda kar raha hai isliye hame samudri Seema per jyada dhyan dene hoga iske liye hame kuch naye aadhunik upkaran kharidane honge iske liye aarthik roop se aatmanirbhar hona padega isee vajeh se hame Janta ka sahyog lena padega
