Though having engineers as lecturers, instructors, Government Polytechnic, Dahod rely on outside people to mend smallest of problems either in repairing of construction, computers, electricity, etc. And it is always time consuming. e.g.Repairing a fan takes more than six months As it is an technical institute, its easy for them to do small mending on their own by engineering staff. This can also become a realtime example/apprentice to students on various small tasks. It must get changed so.

Government Polytechnic, Dahod runs diploma engineering programs in civil, computer, electrical, e&c, mechanical and cacddm. It functions in two shifts. It lacks staffrooms and classrooms for lectures. Further, basic facilities of potable water is not adaquate. Cleanliness of lavatories is not maintained. In most classrooms, laboratories, staff room, library and other offices, electricity supply is not proper and safe. Kindly do needful in thjs regard.

The syllabus of the technical/engineering courses running in polytechnics must be revised in regular intervals. The technology is changing faster than the syllabus. The products prepared by the students during the practical work in labs/workshops must be used in the institutions itself. If not then be possessed by the district administration to use it properly. The raw material must be provided by the institutions. Do emphasis on the practicals in course period & live experience with factories.

ITI could be retaining center for traditional existing skills. e.g carpenter in villages still use traditional tools and techniques which consume more time and earn them less money.ITI can retrain and certify them in using new tools and techniques. It would help them getting finished job fast and adequate labour charges as per their finished skill-set.

We can incubate village entrepreneurs by allowing them to use machinery for making products during non practical hours.Institute can charge them on hour basis(which includes electricity and depreciation charges). This arrangement would develop self employ-ability with little capital. Once they develop confidence in making and selling they could be to set up machine at their premise.Plug and play system would spur entrepreneurship.
