What ever the garbage, sewage water and other waste material thrown in to Ganga, should be treated as raw material input for bio power generation. If power is generated from all this material ,this will help to generate some revenue for government. Other wise all such project will be like white elephant & after some day this will not feasible to operate them . The operations of such project will come to end if they do not generate any interest for operational authorities.

A flowing river with water in it is self cleaning, you don't have to force its hand. Every river in India is diverted from its main course into lined channels that disallow local percolation, recharge of water and achievement of water balance. We need water in the rivers have localized catchments along rivers - similar to the Grand Anaicut & self replenishing canals like the Buckingham Canal. Don't divert, let water be. Water solves itself, don't force it. Sand filters it - concrete traps it.

YES WE CAN CLEAN THE MAA GANGA. First of all the plastic bags should be strictly banned in the whole nation. sometimes back they were strictlly banned in Rishikesh the nagar palika strictly implented the bann. The guilty were penalised. As a result the banks of ganga tge streets of Rishikesh and the coloines were looking quite clean. The prolem of choking of drainage also stopped to an extent. People came into a habbit of bringing bags while going to vegetale market or elsewhere . But it allstop

1. Undercapacity sewage treatment plants 2. Industrial effluents not treated and poisonous heavy metals entering food chain( example Kanpur) 3. No roadmap for water recycle and resuse 4. Heavy draw for irrigation on upper Ganga canal causing insufficient flow at lower Ganga canals 5. Opportunity offered by flood waters in Ganga is not converted into groundwater recharge potential 6. Interconnection of all India rivers is absent which make flood water management impossible
