5.) As shown in the fig a high pressure pump must be installed on the opposite side of the device so that waste collected over the wiper when it will rub the screen can be sucked inside the device along with water. 6.) The solid waste collecting chamber will be having a size sufficient to collect enough waste for one cycle. 7.) The waste will not be able to enter the filtered water storage section of the device because of the strainer installed between the two.

Respected Sir, As I had mentioned in my post earlier that I can design a plant for cleaning of Ganga River. I have attached a simple fig. showing the working principle of Solid Waste Sucking Device. As per my design cleaning of Ganga River can be done by the following procedure: 1.) Large numbers of screens must be installed over the river from top to bottom. 2.) These fine screens will prevent waste material to pass through it and all the waste will start accumulation over the screens.

6. People bath directly in the river and so do their cattle. It is harmful for all. Separate bathing spots can be made inbuilt with water treatment. 7. Most of the people have a habit of spitting in ganga, especially who eats the pan. 8. The banks of Ganga near the cities should be properly plastered and maintained to develop a tourism spot. 9. Several bacteria should be added to ganga regularly which can decompose the waste at a higher rate 10. CCTV camera should be implanted on banks.

1. The homes near the banks which directly discharge their wastes to the river. 2. The bacteria which helps decomposing the waste in ganga is lowering in number. 3.The factories are discharging chemical wastes in ganga directly without treatment. 4. There is no awareness among people concerning the river. 5. All the temples on the banks directly throw the flowers and other materials used in the ceremonies during worship.

1. Raw sewage from Industry, housing, etc. 2. Construction of sewage treatment plants throughout the course of the Ganga. 3. Ensuring all sewage is channeled to the treatment plant before its disposal into the Ganga. 4. Controling corruption in Pollution Control Boards. This is the biggest challenge because corrupt inspectors are the biggest contributer of this problem. 5. Make Gram Panchayat's accountable. 6. Developing civic sense among the people of India.

What needs to be done is start only at the top of the river, ie, northern most inhabited place say Rishikesh and the come down south. This needs to be done in phases. Also give maximum importance to municipal waste disposal and the industrial effluent waste being discharged in to the rivers.
