I am a former NASA scientist currently employed at MIT-ADT University in Pune. I have built a tool that allows AI models like ChatGPT, Gemini etc. to easily talk to all 2.3 lakh+ datasets that are part of Open Government data. The tool does AI searching and also processing, and allows AI agents to find and analyse datasets to provide answers to users.
This can be immensely useful for researchers, journalists, the government, as well as common citizens of India who want to understand government data. This dataset includes everything, from crop yields to deaths by stampede to animal bite cases to air traffic to inflation. With this tool, users are able to talk to this huge collection of data in just natural language, like "Give me some interesting insights on HI cases in India". I have attached a video demonstration of this tool. A professor at IIT Gandhinagar has also agreed to help me develop a use case demo for the tool. I wrote to several ministries but did not get a response.
