Respected PM sir, Bureaucratic inefficiencies and excessive paperwork have long been a drag on India’s transport sector, particularly in logistics and road freight. Here's how this red tape is disabling the sector: - Truckers often need to obtain numerous permits—state-wise road tax, national permits, pollution certificates, fitness certificates, etc.which vary across states.- This leads to delays at check posts and increases compliance costs.- Inefficient Border Checkpoints.- Despite the GST rollout and e-way bills, many state borders still have manual checks, leading to long queues and idle time for freight vehicles. Transport is governed by multiple agencies: Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, state transport departments, municipal bodies, and traffic police.- Lack of coordination leads to overlapping regulations and inconsistent enforcement.- Manual Documentation- Paper-based systems dominate in many regions, especially for vehicle registration and driving licencing.
