The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is committed to preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage through Geographical Indications (GI) – unique products that reflect the traditions, craftsmanship, and identity of our diverse regions. To give a voice and rhythm to this movement, DPIIT in collaboration with MyGov invites citizens to participate in the GI Promotion Anthem Contest. This is your chance to showcase creativity and celebrate India’s legacy of authenticity and excellence!
Mission: To promote, protect, and globally position India’s Geographical Indication (GI) products, ensuring rightful recognition for their unique heritage, regional identity, and craftsmanship. DPIIT aims to strengthen India’s intellectual property ecosystem and boost the visibility, value, and market access of GI‑registered products across the world.
Vision: To build “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi”—a future where India’s heritage products, indigenous skills, acquired uniqueness, and cultural excellence gain prominence through GI protection. DPIIT envisions to strengthen the rural economy, empowering artisans and farmers, and making GI products symbols of premium Indian quality.
Ministry/ Department mention: This initiative is led by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
Themes/Topics of the competition: The theme should highlight India’s GI products, their cultural significance, and the message of “Invaluable Treasures of Incredible India”.
Technical Parameters:
1. The composition must be original; use of stock music or copyrighted samples is strictly prohibited.
2. Submit the anthem in high-quality audio format (MP3/WAV) via an accessible link (e.g., Google Drive).
3. Provide the lyrics in a separate PDF (in Hindi or English.
Gratification:
The Top 3 winners will receive the following rewards along with an e-certificate:
1. First Prize: GI product worth INR 10,000/-
2. Second Prize: GI product worth INR 7,000/-
3. Third Prize: GI product worth INR 5,000/-
4. Additionally, 25 Consolation Awardees will be awarded with e- certification each.
5. The winning videos will be promoted and showcased on the official social media handles of GI Promotion.
