The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India expresses the interest to set up a sculpture at Kaushal Bhawan. The sculpture is envisioned to be an embodiment of skills and aspirations of the youth of India that is driving the vision of a ViksitBharat@2047. It must be symbolic of the essence of the Skill India Mission, capturing not only the dynamic aspects of innovation and grassroot transformation but also human aspects of dignity and achievement. To elaborate on the dynamic aspects of innovation and grassroot transformation we indicate the skilling initiatives that the Ministry has undertaken in new and emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence or the Green Economy and empowerment of traditional artisans and craftspeople with skills in modern tools and machinery while leading them on a path of self-employment and ‘atmanirbharta’.
Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with MyGov invites citizens to design the sculpture and each entry must include a short note on the concept of design.
The core themes that may be considered are as follows:
Dynamism and Innovation
1. Skilling in new and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Drone Technology, and the Green Economy.
2. India’s growing role as the Skill Capital of the World through futuristic workforce readiness.
Grassroots Transformation
1. Empowerment of traditional artisans and craftspeople, through modern tools and digital skilling.
2. Integration of heritage crafts with modern markets and pathways to ‘atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance).
Human Dignity & Achievement
1. Respect for the dignity of labour and the contributions of India’s skilled workforce across sectors.
2. Representation of the dreams and aspirations of India’s youth, shaping the nation’s destiny.
Inclusivity & Diversity
1. Acknowledging the contributions of all sections of society—women, persons with disabilities, rural youth, marginalized communities, and the elderly.
2. Celebrating the unity of India’s diversity through skilling: different regions, languages, traditions, and professions represented in a collective journey toward Viksit Bharat@2047.
3. Symbolizing equitable opportunity, ensuring no one is left behind in India’s development story.
The sculpture may be conceptualised under distinct visual concepts as suggested below:
1. Fusion of modern and traditional: The sculpture may depict the fusion of modern and traditional skills highlighting the expanse of impact of the Skill India Mission across geographies.
2. Abstract Modern – “The Rising India”: It may also be an abstract design depicting the rising role of India in providing skilled manpower to the world.
Gratification:
The top 10 designs will be recognized through certification.
The sculpture of the winning design will be set up at Kaushal Bhawan.
