“Setu Bharatam” is an ambitious program to ensure Railway Crossing less National Highways by 2019. In order to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has envisaged a plan for replacement of all the Level Crossings on National Highways by ROBs/ RUBs and replacement/ widening/ strengthening of weak and narrow bridges under” Setu Bharatam”.

Under this program, a total number of 208 Level Crossings have been identified for replacement by constructing ROBs in time bound manner. In addition, approximately 1500 bridges shall also be improved by replacement/widening/ strengthening in a phased manner.

Ministry of Road Transport & Highways invites entries from the public for suggesting Logo for “Setu Bharatam”

Last date for submission of entries: 31st May, 2016.

Selected entry will be awarded cash prize of Rs. 25000/- (Rs. Twenty Five Thousand only)

Setu Bharatam is an ambitious programme of #MinistryofRoadTransportandHighways. In the logo unit of Setu Bharatam, symbol shows the goal of the program i.e. railway crossing less roads/highways. Graphics of railways and roadways are creating sign of infinity. That depicts the infinite vision of making highway traffic smooth and safe. Also tri-colour of Indian flag gives a proud feel it. Logo/text has bold, strengthen feel. And also the graphic of bridge simply explain the concept elegantly.

The logo which I have designed for the #SetuBharatam project of Government of India, I've tried to inculcate the friendship between both the countries grown over these much years. I tried to make it #SelfExplanatory. I got the inspiration from Ram Setu built 1000s of years ago during Treyta Yug by Neel & Nal, according to Indian Mythology. I mixed that idea with the modern art techniques to design this unique logo. #NationalHighways #India_SriLanka #MinistryofRoadTransportandHighways
