Recognising the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards Health and wellbeing the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 11th December 2014 proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY). Since 2015, this day has been observed to remind people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga and build public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health.
Ministry of AYUSH in collaboration with MyGov invites innovative, original, and meaningful befitting theme suggestions for the celebration of International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026, to be observed on 21st June 2026.
Participation Guidelines
1. Entries may be submitted in English or Hindi
2. Theme should be concise (3–10 words maximum)
3. It should be original, unpublished, and free from plagiarism
4. A brief justification (100–150 words) explaining relevance to Yoga and current national/global priorities.
Evaluation Criteria
1. Relevance to Yoga philosophy and practice.
2. Alignment with national and global well-being priorities.
3. Originality and creativity.
4. Clarity, impact, and composition.
Gratification
Certificate of Appreciation will be provided to the winner.
