There is the need of generating more more awareness,in rural areas and for that local governing bodies should take initiatives.

First start changing the normal lights in government offices. Give target to government departments that electricity bill you saved will be spent on the welfare of that staff department. But if you spend more than some sort of punishment should also be there like decreasing perks from their salaries or cut 1-5% on the basis of salary.

INSTEAD OF WORKING TO SAVE ELECTRICITY, WORK TO GENERATE MORE NUCLEAR POWER FROM INDIGENOUSLY MADE NUCLEAR REACTORS(SAY NO TO IMPORTED REACTORS FOR CHEAP ELECTRICITY GENERATION),GENERATE MORE HYDEL POWER WHICH IS POSSIBLE.RELY LESS ON POLLUTION CAUSING THERMAL POWER.CONVERT THERMAL POWER STATIONS INTO INDIGENOUSLY MADE NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS.GENERATE MORE AND MORE CHEAP ELECTRICITY(COSTING 15 PAISE/KWH (UNIT COST)

All those interested in the LED lighting discussions and accelerated deployment should get together for some private sector initiatives too. Government has already initiated the move. I can be reached at ambrish@scientech.bz

The world will save 19% of its energy need, if all lighting is changed to LED lighting. That offers a huge reduction in our carbon footprint and further investments in energy generation. LED lighting does very well with Solar Power as both are cleaner technologies.

An LED may cost less, but an LED light fitting has additional circuit. A constant current driver is required to take in voltage fluctuations and give good PF for energy saving, else the advantages of LED lighting are lost. Cheap LED lights make compromises which result in less light output, more power consumption and reduced light. Good LED lighting is like a long term investment like a fan. It is not a consumable. For anything that provides so much advantages, be ready to pay a bit more. Thanks
