Eight crore house-holds are off-grid and use kerosene for lighting purpose, costing 30000 cr subsidy on kerosene.A set of 10w Solar panel with 3 LED bulbs ,costs US$ 28.Mass scale prodn of solar cells and assembly under ‘Make in India scheme’ will generate employment for one lakh people with no subsidy on kerosene. This will provide 24x7 light to all.
